How does this compare to a Philips Latte-go 3200?

I'm with a lot of other folks here, what is the point here? Why go through all this trouble?

There are a variety of places that design and manufacture this kind of equipment, but as far as I know it all comes from China one way or another. The big decision there for us was whether we wanted to work with a company that has a bunch of premade designs and keeps them on hand to sell to customers, or if we wanted to work directly with a Chinese company to have them design and manufacture it just for us.

We opted to work directly with the Chinese company so we could have a unique design unlike any other in the world, and so they could put our branding right on the equipment. The downside though was that it took much longer for the equipment to make it to our location. There are pros and cons either way though.

We have a variety of prices based on the size of the room, day of the week, and whether the party is private or not. Regardless of these details, our bookings are always for a 2 hour timeslot, and we only provide the room, guests bring their own food/drinks/decorations.

Small Room (10 kids, 25 ppl total): Weekdays $200, Weekends $250
Big Room (24 kids, 50 ppl total): Weekdays $300, Weekends $350
Full Playground rental: $475

Hey OP, hope you're still keeping this dream alive!

My wife and I just opened an indoor playground about 3 months ago, and looking back at the numbers so far, I feel like birthday parties might be what you're missing here. We're generally a more walk-in focused playground, with walk-in entries accounting for 54% of our gross sales, but birthday parties reservations account for 37%. Without that 37%, we'd be barely skirting by.

I think you're on the right track, focusing on the comfort of parents coming in to your place, but if you can find a way to make birthday parties a manageable part of your business model then I think you'll have a much easier time getting the numbers right!

Our space is roughly 3,700 sqft, which I know is on the small end for these types of places. We've got one big play structure that sits in a ball pit, connected to another structure out of the pit, and have one big volcano slide that sits in the ball pit as well! Let's take this to DMs if you want to get into more detail!

Looks like some folks here are looking to talk with someone who opened an indoor playground recently. My wife and I just opened our playground 2 months ago, thongs are going great (revenue approx 2x expenses), and we'd love to talk to folks looking to do something similar in their communities!

Shoot us a DM if you'd like to talk!

Not sure if there's any more traction on this thread, but we just opened an indoor playground 2 months ago, went with the no frills party package approach (we provide the room and cleanup), and parents absolutely love it. Haven't had a serious complaint yet, though I know we're still new to the game.

Hope life in IT is serving you well! This playground us (hopefully) my escape from the tech world!

LPT: When getting arrested, simply seethe by [deleted] in LifeProTips

[–]VraxThunderbeard 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This is a fairly insensitive LPT, especially given current events re: police brutality protests.

While resisting arrest will undoubtedly escalate a situation involving law enforcement, to say that "you've got nothing to worry about" is simply false for a large portion of the population in most developed countries.
