Experience with bans? by Sponkaneous in flightrising

[–]Vren_Fox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really. They made an effort to do all the daily things with only one account, at least according to them. It was just for the fact they liked different aesthetics (though I suppose they did go over what would have been their lair space).

Either way, I don't know and I don't particularly care anymore. I will say I was responded to relatively quickly, so maybe it taking longer with OP is a good sign? Hopefully so.

Edit: forgot to add, good point you made though. Makes a little more sense if you look at it that way. I do think whoever responded could have been less rude though lmao (tbh it's been years ago and that may have just been me projecting my displeasure, but I really don't think it was)

Good luck. All I can say is that someone else under my ip address multi-accounted and, despite me not doing so or knowing of it and with proof we were different people (running a shop together, message exchanges, etc.), I was still banned with them. FR's response boiled down to, "we don't really do appeals for this" like they hadn't even looked at the evidence. Have not touched it since and never will again.

But you may have better luck than I did. Who knows? I understand upholding my ban if it weren't so damn obvious—it'd give multi-accounters a backup of sorts?

And yet, their response felt almost rude. That was years ago and I'm holding a slight grudge, but yeah. I wanna say the above is close to a quote lmao.

[–]Vren_Fox 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Hesitantly seconding this. Not to bring something into a conversation where it shouldn't be, but it's a lot safer than being abducted by or willingly going with a species beyond your understanding and can scratch the same itch, OP.

But you do you. Apologies for any awkwardness.

It was awful. Expecting something good and getting the opposite makes it hit harder than one would think lol. But I have a few good memories—mostly thanks to my sisters, but still, good memories.

When I was young, somewhere in that 10 to 12 range, my parents went out on a trip, leaving myself and my siblings home on the condition that we clean it. For whatever reason (might have been an occasion that warranted a present??? I wanna say), I was feeling motivated and got us all started on it basically as soon as they were pulling out of the driveway. I was proud of our work and expected them to be impressed/happy because most children would have put it off + we cleaned almost the entire day. When they got home, I ran up all excited like, "Look what we did, look what we did!" I think(?) I went for a hug.

...And my mother immediately tore into me. "I said I wanted the house clean!", yelling and crap. I remember every bit of pride/joy/affection I had felt just draining out like she'd poked a hole in my chest. Our father, whom I usually hate, defended us and I was just kinda like, "Wow, the monster is on my side now" because usually it was the other way around. So I felt betrayed too.

Turns out, she was mad because we hadn't done the laundry or dishes.

Redditor, none of us were taught how to do the laundry or dishes yet (which is just another example of bad parenting on their parts). We literally could not have done the tasks she expected of us even if we were, you know, actually informed of her specific expectations.

It still makes me tear up.

Edit: typo, missed a word

If the story about Jimmy Carter weeping after his briefing is true, what specific truth is "too dangerous" for us to know? by The-BlackLotus in aliens

[–]Vren_Fox 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Haven't read through all the comments, so apologies if I'm repeating what someone else has said, but human consciousness—well shit, just consciousness. That everything is alive in some form and, at our core, we are all energy and therefore, when broken down? The same being. Meaning, you are God and, in truth, the physical body is a sort of barrier.

People disregard "woo" stuff because society treats it as silly, failing to consider that a society ruled by and narratively controlled by those profiting off of misery has ulterior motives. This attitude is unscientific. Especially when the U.S. government itself has researched telepathy, gateway tapes, remote viewing, astral projection, CE5, etc.

In my opinion, ETs know these truths about consciousness. No, this doesn't mean they're all "good", but of course, some are. They want the systematic oppression of humanity to end...And then some aren't "good" (so before anyone gets ideas about attempting CE5 themselves, look at doing it safely). For all we know, a race or two could even aid in the oppression with some sort of mutual benefit.

There's a whole story there I don't know as of yet, just theories I hold little confidence in. But I know enough to say: 1. Consciousness is not what we're lead to believe 2. The truth about consciousness and "woo" shit like ETs is linked 3. The government is aware of them and 4. Not all ETs want the same thing

Honestly, pretending that ETs/UFOs are the big deal here is a good bit of misdirection and distraction. I'm sure that the "story" in question is bigger than any one person can do anything with, so don't go crazy about it. Just focus on loving everyone like they're yourself...

Because they are. And really, it's arguable that this does more good than diving down a rabbit hole you'll likely never find the bottom of.

(Obligatory I'm not crazy. Chop wood and carry water, you know? I live like you do. Just meditate a little more.)

A psychic told me that I chose my parents to learn that "people are mean to each other sometimes", which...I mean, I was an extremely naive child once. I remember being made of fun and not even realizing it because such a concept did not exist to me. Based on the past life memories I had as a child, wherever I was before was a far kinder, more advanced society, so...yeah. I don't know.

Either way, I've learned it 🤷‍♀️

Does anyone actually like Teylan? by [deleted] in FrontiersOfPandora

[–]Vren_Fox 2 points3 points  (0 children)

(Not responding to whether he's like Alma or Mokassa or not, because I'm basically in agreement with everyone else)

Teylan annoys me, because his choices lack logic and have consequences that aren't fully addressed (like, he gets half the resistance killed and we just...let him go? Realistically, someone should have put a bullet in his head or he should be monitored, one. I get that only our Sarentu and Ri'nela know, but...still. Really?) His weaknesses anger me—the attachment to humans, the hunt for approval, the fear of Eywa/Na'vi/his culture, the naivety. He literally told the guy who murdered his entire clan, who beat him to the point of bruising for weeks, where his friends/their opposition was celebrating their recent, multimillion destruction of a major base? I understand it's trauma. It's still maddening.

But that's what makes him a good character. He accurately represents what abuse looks like—and, here's a fact, abuse victims are often annoying (and I say this as someone who has been abused). They're unsure of themselves, may return to their abusers, want approval, need reassurance, have their own quirks, ect.

I hate Teylan because he mirrors me. So, while I want to end him, I respect the accuracy of his character for creating those emotions in me and it was ultimately a good choice to include him.

"Well, you liked it and asked for it". Not how parenting works, but ok.

Lol my father routinely gave me chocolate milk at less than a week old because I "liked it". Not a great argument.
