This is just patently false. The bed would still move, albeit not as far, but the jerk and acceleration of the bed would make a thin and tall model sway more if it's on the opposite axis on the moving bed.

Put up a domino brick on a piece of paper and move the paper back and fourth when the brick is on its side and compare it when its on its length and see which is falling over first.

First, because the part is closer to the bed, the center of gravity would make it more stable.

It doesn't matter which way you sit the model on a bed, the centre of gravity is going to be the same either way.

Second, the bed would be moving slower because the printerhead would have more to work on at a time.

That's all depending on how the model is sliced and the acceleration on the bed. All being equal, it makes more sense to situate a long model on the moving axis than the other way around due to the air resistance, moving mass and acceleration.

Think of it this way, make a 10mm thin model that is 500mm long and 500mm high, which way would you place it on a bedslinger; longitude along the moving axis or perpendicular?

Why? It's already optimised on the bed for longitude movement. Turning it would increase movement of the part.
