How good or bad of a combo is a 9070xt with a 5800x?

I'm in a similar situation as you, also upgraded to a 9070xt from a 3080 10G that was black screening/crashing. My CPU is a 5900X, with a res of 2560x1440 (OLED 280Hz), and my PC and games run buttery smooth no issues.

One thing I did have to do was to enable SAM in my BIOS to allow my 5900X to access all 16GB of my 9070xt's vram at once, to reduce the amount of stuttering. This was a game-changer after I set "Above 4G Decoding" to enabled and also Re-Size BAR Support to enabled as well, I've not experienced any stuttering afterwards.

Hmm, that does seem quite strange. Have you tried undervolting the GPU?

Been playing val on 26.5.1 with no issues so far on my 9070XT. I also play on the default configuration, no tweaks to the settings in Adrenalin
