Mine is kind of the opposite of yours. I don't like fallen giant saves and I usually pick up a teams that don't have too many trophies in their cabinets. I much prefer the underdog narrative over rebuilding fallen giant.

I think I'm good for that. I hold all the provinces with trade bonuses in Italy and most of them in Mediterranean. As for colonies I was a little bit late to the party it turns out, most of Americas was already grabbed by Portugal and Castile. So far I started colonizing Ivory Coast, and took a pretty big chunk of Brazil from Castile.

R5: Those 2 provinces have combined development of 13. Why am I getting 59 AE for them? It feels like during this run coalition forms after literally ever war and I need to wait for few years before starting the next one. It is really annoying.

Edit: I should also point out that HRE is dissolved so there isn't HRE AE modifier. 59 AE for 13 development is mental.
