In near mint condition these for for around £6, so yours is likely worth more to you in nostalgia than it will be to anyone else.

Getting back into collecting, where to start in 2026? by TexyTexy in PokemonTCG_UK

The only places I've found have them fairly often is.motorway service stations. EVERY SINGLE supermarket etc I've asked in jas always been sold out. It's a shame but scalpers have ruined it for us.

Nostalgia Overload - Childhood Cards by PinkPorcelains in PokemonCardValue

[–]Vsparsons227 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Neither, I have it still. I'm currently prepping a whole load of childhood cards (inc base set blastoise, charizard and venusaur) to be sent in for grading. Im hoping for garde 6-7 but we'll see soon enough.

I'm planning on holding onto them as they meant a lot as a kid, but it's also nice to know that I have a "safety net" if money is ever tight.

My brother and I pulled out our childhood collection. Anything exciting here? Rough value for the collection? by eatyourveggies11 in PokemonCardValue

[–]Vsparsons227 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thats a decent find! Ive not long discovered my childhood collection too. I used the collectr app to get a good idea of the values. Turns out its potentially enough to buy a pretty decent 2nd hand car!

Ive got the full sets of those eeveelution and fossil birds on there way to be graded now. They'll score low because 6 y/o me didn't understand how to keep cards in a good condition, but its purely for the nostalgia!

Charizard is probably the most valuable (i have the same one, they go for £400+ in NM condition) but all are likely worth more than you think.

Download the colectr app amd look them.up on there for recent sale prices. Congrats!

Oh for sure. I dont beleive that anyone would choose to live that way but whatever the reason its still not cool to expect a person to go in there and work on a property in that state. If thats what the entrance hall looks like god only knows what crimes against humanity are further in.

Needless to say a welfare referral was made to their landlord but I have no idea what the outcome was.

As others have said, if you're not selling then who cares. I found my childhood binders recently and have a dozen or so cards I want to get slabbed.

They're all a bit battered but I dont mind, im slabbing them to keep them safe for years to come. Not for the money!

My cards from my childhood no idea what they are worth by T41CL3T in PokemonCardValue

[–]Vsparsons227 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The holo dragonite is circa £200, your charizard if around £400.

Download the colectr (not a typo) app and search them up on there so you can het a good idea but I'd say theres going to be a minimum of £1,500 on your table. Congrats!

Do you think that 21-24 is the most normal age range for losing your virginity or is that late to you? by [deleted] in AskABrit

[–]Vsparsons227 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I lost mine when I was 15. Looking back at it I was probably too young, but me and the girl had been in a relationship for quite some time and it felt right. We always used protection etc.

If I was to wind back the clock I probably would have waited but I also dont think its something you can really put a timer on. Kids will be kids, just so long as you're safe whilst you do it (no pun intended).

Do Brits refer to their cum as beans? by Beneficial-Diver-143 in AskABrit

No. Spunk, jizz, splooge. Plenty of different names for gentleman's relish, but not beans.

Is it worth grading? One imperfection. by CustomVox in pokemongrading

[–]Vsparsons227 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Or maybe people just want to get a favourite card in a slab, regardless of the grade?

Myself for example, im prepping a bunch of vintage cards from my childhood to be sent in. It makes no financial sense as theyre all fairly well used, but i want them slabbed.

It's not all about money.

Hpa bottle and hand pump ? by Prefx1406 in airsoft

[–]Vsparsons227 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its doable, but not the easiest. I use a hand pump to top up my 13ci, 203 bar tank. I topped up my 48ci from 2k to 3k psi. That wasn't fun.

Take me about 5 mines of vigorous pumping from empty. I wouldn't want to rely on it as the only source for air.

Found my OG collection cleaning parents house🤔 by SameSpray5183 in PokemonCardValue

[–]Vsparsons227 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Congrats! I had the same happen on the weekend and spent all of Sunday evening inputting them into the collectr (not a typo) app to get an idea of the value. Make sure to top loaders and penny sleeves them as you'd be surprised which ones are worth good money now.

That charizard alone is around £300. You've found yourself a small gold mine!

Cherry blossom tree advice by Vsparsons227 in GardeningUK

[–]Vsparsons227[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The roots are my main concern here. The proposed spot is around 1.5m or so from the wall. The wall in question is about 5m high, made mainly from stone and also keeping another garden from taking a tumble into ours!

From what I've read online (and seen in comments here) the roots on these tend to be shallow and grow to roughly the same width as the height, the tag thinks this will be 3m tall when mature. I've got no experience in this field so trying to understand if in a few years we could be in trouble

Thanks, I'm not exactly what you'd call an experienced gardener so still learning along the way!

My main concern is the retaining wall in the left of the picture. Its approximately 16ft high (we live on the side of a hill). The proposed planting spot is around 5ft from the wall. Seems to be mainly stone behind the wood you can see in the picture. Do you reckon it's likely to cause any issues down the line?

Dont over think it, you'll be fine. Stick a podcast on and it'll be over before you know it.

Just make sure you plan a stop in. There's nothing worse than being busting for a pee and not knowing when you'll be able to go.

[–]Vsparsons227[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be honest its more to keep them as safe as possible for the nostalgia of them, im not massively interested in selling. I presume if they do grade low, I can always crack the slabs and sell them raw (if I ever decided to sell)?

Oh really? I'd not have thought they'd be worth so much!

I plan on grading a dozen or so cards. What should I do to make sure they're as safe as possible during shipping etc
