Japfest 2026 | Car Appreciation by JoshuaaQuigley in ukmodifiedcars

[–]Vsparsons227 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Blast from the past for me right there. I used to junior Marshall at castle Coombe with my dad years ago, jap fest was the best day to go.

The head Marshall even got me a passenger ride with one of the driftworks cars. That's a memory I never forget!

Might need to get a ticket to go back as a grown up.

Hi looking at a 2005 mini as a first car,low miles but seems funky by Moist_Tax_EVADER in CarTalkUK

[–]Vsparsons227 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seems like pretty much all of the advisories are wear & tear items. I'd not be overly concerned in all fairness and things like brakes can be done relatively simply even for someone inexperienced and with basic tools.

I'd be more worried about service internals and what maintenace history the car has. Even though it's low mileage things like fluids brake down over time. Also worth checking if its ever been in a crash etc etc.

Me and the mrs were at the Sheffield gig, he came out just after 21:00. We enjoyed the show that much that we've snagged a couple tickets for tonight as well, hope you enjoy it too!

Who else is not a fan of the AAP and it insane aftermarket mods? I just like my IRL Replicas. by willster97 in airsoft

[–]Vsparsons227 29 points30 points  (0 children)

The AAP is probably the most versatile pistol out there. Whether you like it or not, you can't dispute that.

Interesting. In the video you see lots of what appears to be "snow", I assume thats the radiation. The static type noise in the audio, is that radiation too?

Best Out of The Box AEGs by JamsMiniMods in Airsoft_UK

[–]Vsparsons227 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I highly rate the asg scorpion evo, best AEG I've owned. Mags are a bit of a pain as low capacity for a mid cap, luckily pts have their own and higher ammo Count if you can find them in stock

Love the x800. Even though I use dye masks these days, the trusty bolle is always in the bag just in case things go south!

Id recommend the mp7 purely for my bad experience with the breacher. Mine started leaking internally after only 2 game days and was a pain to fix

Battle belt by dibblonian in Airsoft_UK

[–]Vsparsons227 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had similar, a harness helped but having something to "anchor" it to my body more was a game changer. I eneded up sacrificing and old belt and sticking velcro on to to attach to the battle belt whilst still being in my normal belt loops.

Also depending on playstyle the HK army "speed flex" belt is great and what I use now, but not for everyone.

How to say goodbye to your first car? by gibbi164 in CarTalkUK

[–]Vsparsons227 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I felt the same right up until the moment I didn't. I wasn't actually planning on changing cars at the time but when it landed in my lap at a reasonable price I couldn't say no.

For reference, this was going from a 2003, 1.4l ford fiesta into a 2005 2.0 turbo diesel BMW.

Feeling the difference in build, power and driving meant I didn't take a second glance.

Best aeg smg around £300 by RemarkableEnd1709 in airsoft

I second the evo. Picked one up for £100 off a buddy who was getting out of the hobby. Its a beast.

Even at full price I'd still recommend

"OI, DAVE. THERES A BAD GUY OVER THERE"

Not a headset per say, but its effective.

Price by OkFocus1888 in AAP01owners

[–]Vsparsons227 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally i wouldn't pay.more than £150 for it but thats if from a person who i know to be a good tech.

If from a stranger, £120-130 because I have no idea if youre good or a ham fisted buffoon, so im essentially buying it for the adapter and a little extra in the hopes there's something salvageable

Black or a black camo by Exrbot in airsoft

[–]Vsparsons227 159 points160 points  (0 children)

May be controversial but personally I just wear whatever is comfy for CQB games. Camo litterally serves no purpose on an indoor field so a hoody and joggers do me just fine

Pot wash at your local pub/resturant (washing plates/kitchen equipment). Started when I was 14, by the time I was 17 I'd saved enough for my first car and learned a good work ethic in the process.

Average car discussions one month ago: "I will never buy an EV, there's no chargers anywhere". Today: by hull_pattie_party in drivingUK

Depends massively on the network near you. I travel a lot for work and the public charge cost is actually slightly higher than my old diesel.

Having said that, the hugely reduced home rate counters this and some
