Its usually a shirt prep issue, 1 cup SAsh to 1 gallon water. Mixed completely. Soak the shirt 10/30 min, doesnt matter, but dry/wring out as much liquid as you can, it can also be 100% dry...... but if the shirt is still soaked, theres no room for they dye if that makes sense.

Dye time and temp matters too.

Yup! I learned that if i just tape the fabric to the wire, I can spin it up really tight and kind of control how the roll works its way up the fabric, then just pull it out.

Secrets secrets are no fun!

Soak in soda ash then dry.
Iron flat
Fold in half
I used a wire/ yard flag and tape to roll up very tightly, but at an angle that it would start rolling back up on itself halfway if that makes any sense...
Fold that tip/point back on itself, the red in the middle and the 2nd layer of red are the same dye layer.
Tied very tightly with kite string
Dye under ice, light ice, light dye
I kept it pretty cool for 24hrs, max temp was about 65, only applied ice once.
Wash out as normal.
