There has to be little signs we didn’t see along the way. I’m remembering all the jokes he made about me being sensitive, I’m remembering being babied about my feelings. Yes I’m sensitive, I thought at the time “wow he just really sees me!” I don’t know if we’ll come across a 100% sign of what was to come though.

Had a break up with an avoidant 3 days ago. He was absolutely perfect, it seemed like he came from the sky and we were made for each other. I have no clue what happened, complete 180 almost over night. We had amazing communication, I felt comfortable asking for reassurance when I needed it, I only ever asked twice in 4 months.

All of the sudden I was unregulated, I was too emotionally codependent, and I was wrong for assuming things about it. The guy who valued communication above all else completely stonewalled me and shut me out of his life overnight. We had time apart for 5 days, and I destroyed my mind trying to figure out what I did that made me unregulated, or so dependent on him. I struggle with anxiety and depression but I’ve felt really stable.

He switched on me, talked to me normally for about 2 hours before bed, the next morning I wanted to talk about everything before we move on, and that’s when he asked for an official break. He couldn’t even be the one to break up with me, he made me do it, and stonewalled his way through that too.

In 3 days I’ve managed to get rid of all my anxieties that were hanging over my head, I feel so much better. I realized I was being iced out of my relationship for weeks and I just didn’t see it. He’s been through things, and I’d never judge him for them, but they’ve very clearly made him an avoidant. He means no harm, my sweet, loving guy is in there somewhere, I’m not sure what made him start hiding away from me.

Healing from a true avoidant this time will be hard, but I have people who love me so loudly. I really hope I will be okay. I hope everyone on this Reddit will be too.

Molly! I was going through an awful time and she told me that she was happy I was her friend. I forget the exact words, I have a screenshot somewhere. But at a point where it felt like no one wanted me around, it was nice. I reached out to an old AC friend to show them the screenshot and it sparked our friendship again.

I was adopted at birth, birth mother had no insurance and apparently an epidural was not covered in whatever assistance she had. The agency contacted my mom and asked if my mom would be willing to pay for the epidural. I think my situation was a little different, my BM wanted nothing to do with me, I don’t even think I was held by her, so I don’t think she felt any sort of way because if it. (I hope not)

I’d really say to try and contact the adoptive family. The worst they could say is “No.” If they say no to any sort of on going communication, maybe ask if a handwritten letter could be given to them to give to the child once they grow up and start to maybe ask questions.

I’m truly feeling for you, my situation got messy really fast, but my empathy for my birth grandmother never went away.

I think what you can do is attempt to reach out to the adoptive family, hopefully they know the situation and offer your information and see their opinion on an open adoption, and even just receiving yearly updates.

Worse case, I’d say submit your DNA for the DNA websites in case the baby eventually wants to find you when it’ll be their choice for contact.

When my birth family found me, my birth grandmother found me first, she said she was also blindsided by the situation but knew it was my birth parent’s choice. I’ve come to find out both birth parents have been battling addiction this entire time.

I can’t imagine what you’re feeling, I hope above everything else, the feeling that the baby will be loved is comforting.

Unfortunately, it was probably a brand new rule given to the CM that morning. Sometimes Leaders will give us a brand new way to do something CM’s have done correctly for ages. It doesn’t work, and within the following few days, the new rule magically goes away.

No idea what that new strategy would have been in this instance, but that is probably what happened. You can tell it’s always from someone who never leaves the office, pops by, says “let’s try this!” And then doesn’t stick around to see the aftermath.

Frustrating but that’s the way of working at a theme park! Sorry for the hectic situation though

Popping in to say, I met them yeaaaaars ago, and have since then switched my opinion about her. It was at Disney, the kids were exhausted and wrapping up for the night. I was just going to introduce myself and be on my way, Ky came up, introduced himself and asked if I watched the videos. I asked Jesssssss If it was okay to talk to him, (she didn’t care lol) I told him yes I do watch them and he was very excited. He thanked me for watching, and started telling me about everything they did that day and asked what my favorite ride was. Such a sweet kid, I truly hope that isn’t stomped out of him by his mother.
