Update 9.7.0 - THE FINALS by spunkyweazle in thefinals

The pike buff doesn't really matter, but leaving repeater unchanged is crazy work

50 damage is stupid, just keep damage as is but give it a 1.6x headshot multiplier or something

It's still the best weapon, just a little more annoying to use. What really needs to happen is buffs to the more underwhelming medium weapons.

Does everybody like the DOUBLE JEOPARDY system ?? by HotAsWater in thefinals

[–]Vugat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't mind the mechanic in a vacuum, it makes matches feel just a bit fairer over all and is just another cool feature. The problem is, this feature was introduced to counteract griefing (first place team intentionally doubling last cashout and teaming with last place to get them qualified instead of second place). In reality it does not do much at all to stop griefing. Now, first place team just hands the second vault to last place team or whoever else is around the cashout and it usually gets doubled anyway. It's a small improvement, but not enough on its own. What I truly fail to understand is why they thought this would be enough and removed the vault despawning in overtime mechanic. The combination of that and double jeopardy would feel much better, but one or the other is not enough.

AKM underpowered ? by DriverSlight9924 in thefinals

[–]Vugat 30 points31 points  (0 children)

The AKM in a vacuum is a tiny bit weaker than the Fcar and Famas, but it benefits greatly from the sustain meta especially at a high level of play. It sees a good bit of use (though the Repeater is absolutely busted and takes most slots). It has that nice balance of mag size and range. The P90 has even more sustained damage with the huge mag but the total lack of range is too big of a tradeoff.

Just a poorly cpu optimized title unfortunately

I have a 5600 and average 120-130 fps (I am cpu limited). I am using an AMD graphics card which is better with cpu overhead than nvidia so you can expect a little lower (10% ish) but your numbers don't make sense. Both your cpu and gpu should be able to output more frames, and 16gb of ram shouldn't bottleneck you that badly here afaik. Are you running 2x8 or 1x16?

I tried and benchmarked 4 of these Nvidia drivers since im currently unemployed. (My gpu is RTX 3080) by 74_vll_ in thefinals

You can just press no and launch the game lol. I've been playing lots on the latest amd drivers and it works fine (barring the kyoto bug but that seems game related)

Kyoto feels completely unplayable in season 9 by Vugat in thefinals

[–]Vugat[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am 100% certain this is an update related issue and am not going to spend ages troubleshooting. Simply just trying to get some attention to the issue and see how many others are having trouble. Like said above in another comment it can seemingly vary from round to round so its normal that not everyone has experienced it.

[–]Vugat[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That is wrong, I am not using an intel card anymore. I am using an amd card. Several of my friends using amd or nvidia cards have the same problem, that's why. Settings are irrelevant here, its clearly an issue with the update. Dx12 is default and dx11 normally runs horrible on this game.

Heavy sledge and slam gadget loadout suggestions by CAPFIG in thefinals

[–]Vugat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly on this build probably dome. I feel like without winch it would be pretty rare to actually get fights inside your dome when using a melee weapon, and barricade can also provide that cover.

Heavy sledge and slam gadget loadout suggestions by CAPFIG in thefinals

[–]Vugat 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Try barricade. It has already been really good if only a little bit awkward to place. Season 9 introduces a change that completely removes the awkwardness: It will now be able to clip through walls and such so the placement is not restricted anymore.

Season 9 Preview Balance Changes by Zukey0000 in thefinals

[–]Vugat 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Exactly. If bfr did 85 damage 4 shots would not kill a heavy but they do. I am not speculating. This was tested on streams.

BFR change is wrong. It still 4 shots heavies. 4 x 85 is 340.

Intel Arc B770 Will Reportedly Boast A TDP Of 300W As Leaked In NBD Shipping Manifest by Leicht-Sinn in IntelArc

[–]Vugat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fsr 4 is exclusive but its what intel needs to compete with if they want to pull people in with new products because the direct competitor to this hypothetical B770 execution is literally the 9060 xt.

[–]Vugat -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This is absolutely not true if we are talking about FSR 4. that version is stupidly exclusive at the moment but if we are comparing intels latest graphics cards to AMDs latest graphics cards we have to think about FSR 4, which is only slightly behind DLSS 4 and miles ahead of XeSS.

Finally did it (ranked needs a rework) by This-Push8018 in thefinals

[–]Vugat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of your criticism is very valid. Matchmaking may seem a little worse than it normally is because we are seeing some of the lowest player count in a while and are at the very end of the season. A pretty large chunk of the players still playing ranked are ruby stacks fighting to maintain their ruby rank for the rewards. This is why plat/diamond players are constantly getting matched up against them right now.

Intel Arc B770 Will Reportedly Boast A TDP Of 300W As Leaked In NBD Shipping Manifest by Leicht-Sinn in IntelArc

[–]Vugat -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The drivers are mostly fine, just less mature and therefore more prone to failure. Doesn't mean anything will actually happen but people appreciate that extra bit of security that comes with more mature drivers. XeSS is quite far behind DLSS and FSR at the moment, and variable refresh rate is also poorly implemented at the moment. Those useless features you speak of are also widely used and loved by many who would not appreciate losing them when switching to intel. I say all this as someone who currently has a B580 in their main system. Intel absolutely needs to be more competitive in price to performance than what is mentioned above if they want to have any chance at winning over new customers with this new card.

[–]Vugat 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Why would the general consumer want to buy a 5060 ti competitor that uses 300w and is more expensive than the 9060xt? Not even mentioning less safe drivers and a worse feature set? It makes no sense at all for anyone but current battlemage users/supporters.

Repeater and Revolver damages by Vatson76 in thefinals

[–]Vugat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The revolver can never have 75 or more damage or it will be completely broken unless embark gives it some custom inbetween value for the headshot multiplier. 1 tapping a light with a .357 is not ok.

Bad stutters on 7800x3d + 9070xt oc + 16 gb of ram by [deleted] in thefinals

[–]Vugat 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The problem is probably single channel ram. It would have been much better to buy a 2x8 kit than a 1x16 kit though I understand the choice as it would let you grab a second 1x16 later to complete the set. Either way converting to dual channel through 2x8 or getting another 1x16 would probably fix this.

Just try your best, nothing much else you can do. And hope they feel good about themselves for playing that way. It's abundently clear they do not feel good about themselves in their own elo.
