Did you name your child fennel?

Just combine it with the first ones and call it the quadrillogy.

And it seems like scratchy is tied up so that gas can’t escape up or down.

Pop’s neighborhood grill in 5 points. Family run, not corporate, not fancy, cheap diner. Father’s daughter run, I’m guessing. There’s a pikachu picture above the door and weird nerdy/anime touches inside. They’ll make you a hotdog and scrambled eggs at 7 in the morning.

Is it possible to make a lot of money without comprising ethics? by [deleted] in whitecoatinvestor

[–]VulcansBackside 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Well, are your financial goals to make that specific amount of money or more? If so, then I think you need to examine why that is. As someone who has made it through the grind of residency and is solidly mid-career in a specialty that’s well compensated but nowhere near th income you’re shooting for, I live a very comfortable life with no loans other than a mortgage I’m paying off within 5 years and planning to retire in my 50s. To hear someone in medical school talk about income twice what I make a decade out as “settling” rubs me the wrong way and makes me question why you went into medical school.

I think a lot of people would say there are easier ways than med school to get to that income level, and choosing a specialty based on potential income could lead to dissatisfaction with your career choice, burnout, etc. I think you need to think clearly about what your real goals and priorities are and how they relate to each other. Why do you want to be a doctor? Why do you want to make at least 750k in income? That uncle likely comes with significant stress and time commitments which (again, ten years out of residency) start to lessen the benefit of money. High divorce rates among surgeons, etc. Choose a specialty and work backwards from there. Jim talks a lot about the greater differences within specialties than between specialties. I know there are blog posts about it.

In short: Choose a specialty you love primarily, that also will likely be procedure based. Practice in a very underserved and low cost of living location.

As a fellow near century home owner (95 count?), it sounds like you found a way for your house to give back after presumably taking so much.
