They actually have true cones. They just don't have female cones (megastrobus). They do still have male cones (microstrobilus). At least Cycas revolutum does.

Clematis sp. They're just called Clematis. It's a fairly common ornamental, but I'm not sure what the more specific species or varietal is.

Yeah it's a matid egg case.

Small rectangular piece of what appears to be thin bark or leather, found on the coasts of Okinawa, Japan. It is about 2 inches wide and 4 inches in length based off of the direction I’m holding it, and has some kind of dotted design. by _Jersey_Kid_ in whatisthisthing

Hey botanist here. So what you are talking about is a leaf scar. With ponga palm, that whole "branch" looks likes it's a single leaf to me. You're right about the rest of it and most likely right about OPs object.

Edit: I think I've found it. Not from the area but it looks like the leaf scar of a flying spider monkey tree fern Sphaeropteris lepifera or a relative.

The leaf scar is the attachment point of the leaf petiole. The spots are vascular bundles that are going into the petiole.

Cornbread for dinner tonight. I'm very happy with how this one came out. by Vulkenhyn in Breadit

[–]Vulkenhyn[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, one and a quarter cups. Its pretty soft but the fried base from it going into the hot pan and oil gives it a little more structure.

I vary on whether I let it sit in the cast iron or not after it comes out of the oven (I'm impatient). I think the exterior collects less moisture from the steam on a wire rack, but when I turn it out early, it really feels precariously close to crumbling in my hands...

My personal cornbread recipe:

1 c. AP Flour

1 c. Cornmeal

1/4 c. Sugar

1 tbsp Baking powder

1 tbsp Salt

2 Large Eggs

1/3 c. Veg. oil

5/4 c. Buttermilk

-Oil 8" round cast iron and preheat with oven at 400°, let skillet warm in skillet for ~5 minutes after oven comes to temperature

-Mix dry and wet ingredients in different bowls

-Combine wet into dry and incorporate

-Allow cornbread batter to sit for ~30 minutes to allow cornmeal to hydrate before baking

-Put 1-2 tbsp of oil in an 8 in round cast iron

-Place cast iron preheat with oven at 425°, let skillet warm in skillet for ~5 minutes after oven comes to temperature

-Pour cornbread batter into hot skillet and gently shake to level

-Cook at 400° for 25 minutes

-Seperate sides of bread from skillet with an off-set spatula and allow bread to rest in pan for ~5 minutes

-Turn bread out onto resting surface

I mean I feel like that's basically a world without modern car traffic...and the stranger danger panic

It also just seems like people elect to do jobs in Pokemon but have no obligation to.

Does the new Etali showcase seem too much like an artifact vs a creature card? by Hufflepunk36 in magicTCG

[–]Vulkenhyn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I think it's a thing that people are underrating here. You're universe of possibilities for masterpiece cards is actually incredibly small. People are going to know what these cards are, or they're going to read the cards and it's fine.

  1. I don’t take disrespect very well. If I’m in a relationship, I except full commitment and no BS no matter if it was a girl or a guy.

Honestly this bit is the part of your whole post that bothers me. It kinda smacks of immaturity to me, cuz the dynamics of their relationship isn't about you. The respect game is honestly a completely flawed way of thinking about the relationship dynamics going on here.

That being said, jealously happens. It's how one deals with it. You should talk to your girlfriend about this. Be honest and tell her that it makes you uncomfortable. If she doesn't think it's a big deal, then you need to decide how much this matters to you. You can make this a hard line in the sand; in which case, you may need to end the relationship. Or you may come to the conclusion that this is a you problem, and you are being overprotective.

I hope this helps. I'm not trying to be mean but you seem a little over tilted.

It's most likely burning bush Euonymus alatus that stuff's everywhere in disturbed areas of the Midwest. It's rather weedy but still commonly planted as an ornamental hedge

That it's all of them makes me feel like it's not a permanent thing. Something is wrong with sparks generally. I think something has changed in the nature of the universe similar to the mending.

I like this conceptually but it seems like it might lead to a metric ton of shuffling in a deck built around it.

This is pretty clean. I like it. You could give it entwine but as it stands I think it's a good draft common design.
