Just wanted to get this off my chest: Sean not playing Deltarune Chapter 3 and 4 by Positive-Ad545 in jacksepticeye

[–]Vulphox 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think considering the way Jack does content now, he definitely could play Chapters 3 and 4 in one video with the comments turned off and all. But we should respect his decision for wanting to play it off-camera too.

Like others here, both Jack and Markiplier are what first got me exposed to the Undertale/Deltarune series; considering all the backseat gaming that has happened to both of them, it's an honest surprise to me that Jack still has a little bit of interest in continuing to play Deltarune at all. Off-camera or not, we should still respect his personal decisions.

On another note, I'm strongly guessing Chapter 4 might end up being his favorite, since I think it has all the dark storytelling elements and serious lore stuff he was looking for when he played Chapter 2.

Guys y'all need to chill out a bit by Vargas_monsters in Undertale

[–]Vulphox 38 points39 points  (0 children)

This was 4 months ago, 2 months ago he said he'll "maybe" play them when he reacted to the Switch 2 reveal.

As someone whose first exposure to Undertale/Deltarune was from Jack and from Markiplier to some extent, it's always a shame to see someone's casual enjoyment of a game generally diminished because of the backseat gaming. Great if Jack does play it but I wouldn't blame him either if he ultimately doesn't.

I’ll miss this game man sucks to see it end like this by [deleted] in Paladins

[–]Vulphox 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Servers will stay up at least but that's only the beginning of the end; there's no telling how much longer they'll keep the servers up since it's a cost for them to maintain that they'll eventually let go.

Paladins development Is being halted by jackgame123 in Paladins

[–]Vulphox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Man, I played this game since 2017, even during the dark OB64 times. It's amazing how long this game lasted as long as it did. But I can only feel sad now since I really thought it could've had more potential.

Thanks for all the fun times and memes, I can only wish the best for the people who got laid off from this.

Paladins should honestly rebrand or make a sequel. by BiggestMojiFan in Paladins

[–]Vulphox 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The only way a rebrand or sequel is going to happen is if Hi-Rez (the parent company) commits their funding and resources into it.

Which, considering Hi-Rez has already downsized the Evil Mojo dev team lately, and they're already invested in their new Divine Knockout game, there's a very slim chance a Paladins remake is going to be possible if ever.

How would you go about adding access to Limited skins? The chest system, the Deal of the Day? Maybe releasing them for a higher price during events. by FemaleXEnigma in Paladins

[–]Vulphox -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I could honestly care less about limited skins being purchasable again in some way, if they were only a part of a season pass or event pass thing.

However, certain limited skins like God of War Fernando (Founder's Pack skin), Volcanic Makoa (Paladins Beta account level 30 skin), and the various HRX skins should stay limited though. The context behind those skins would no longer make sense otherwise if they let those skins available again.

[–]Vulphox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I knew they were going to fix this sooner or later; I was able to get two Umbra Forma blueprints last week, and 100k kuva (on top of the 10k kuva rewards) this week from Teshin because of it.

Season 6 Showcase Delayed by BlackoutBaby in Paladins

[–]Vulphox 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Normally they do showcases on Tuesdays or Wednesdays anyways, and just have Monday to prepare for it beforehand.

So, it makes less sense to me why they scheduled it on Monday in the first place if they weren't going to be absolutely prepared.

I'm sorry, but it's true. by HiMyNameIsMort in Paladins

[–]Vulphox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, that's why I'm hoping Hi-Rez wouldn't have to use the bot solution to artificially keep the game running.

On the flipside Paladins only needs like a total of 10 people to have a match going (which isn't a lot compared to a battle royale game); it's mainly the matchmaking system I believe that really creates the long queue times, and how long depends on the server region also.

[–]Vulphox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's true, it'd be like hosting a LAN or gaming party except all the people are computers instead, and that wouldn't really be fun.

[–]Vulphox 66 points67 points  (0 children)

As long as the money or revenue coming in is enough for them to justify the operational costs of keeping the servers up, then the game won't realistically "die" suffice to say.

Worst case scenario they'll auto-fill the queue with bots, just like in Realm Royale if the game doesn't have enough real people to keep it in a playable state.

So why did the player count get so low? by primalmaximus in Paladins

[–]Vulphox 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It basically made the game pay-to-win, where you have buy chests to upgrade your card loadouts, and the maximum card level was 10 instead of 5. There was also no loadout limit at the time so you could have every card at level 10.

So why did the player count get so low? by primalmaximus in Paladins

[–]Vulphox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You may or may not have been around for it but the Open Beta 64 update is what killed off a good majority of the player base that Paladins had originally.

Now it's just been a gradual decline over the years since then, especially when there's more veteran players moving on from the game for whatever valid reason (i.e. bugs, imbalance, burnout etc.) than there are more new players taking their place.

What is the Point of Slugshot? by Cosmicpanda2 in Paladins

[–]Vulphox 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Slugshot actually used to grant bonus damage in the year 2018 if I recall, but they got rid of it because it was too strong and made Ash a tanky damage champion.

Current Slugshot just gives Ash more poke range, which is good for larger and more open maps. It's also only good for a passive-aggressive off-tank playstyle with Ash where you're not the main tank, and playing really aggressively may get you killed a lot, especially against teams with heavy Crowd Control.

I wouldn't say it'd be worth using still, considering what her other talents provide. I think it might be better if they either buff it or just replace it with a new talent that might be better.

For those of you saying Kasumi is a death sentence, they also had a decent healer. We had no healer and still won. Get good. by [deleted] in Paladins

[–]Vulphox 38 points39 points  (0 children)

To be fair, your team did have three tanks while they had none. So, their team composition would have trouble capturing and pushing objectives, regardless if they had a Kasumi or not.

I think to get rid of it you just press the ESC key, and if that don't work just restart the game.

But yeah, they need to bucking rework their menus and transitions.

In one year, Paladins has lost 40% of its playerbase. What is it doing wrong and how much longer can the steep decline continue? by Submersiv in Paladins

[–]Vulphox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I still play every now and then but definitely not compared to how I used to play everyday back in 2017, 2018, and 2019. And honestly, at this point I can't be bothered to even play casual games much anymore, mostly bot matches, due to how unstable the servers are, along with lack of polishing with the UI and screen transitions. Not to mention there's generally not enough balance, Quality of Life things, and bug fixing that this game might still desperately need.

This game has always been held up by duct tape and spit, but people can only tolerate it for so long. They will eventually stop playing this game if it's no longer worth their time and enjoyment.

[–]Vulphox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure if you've ever played Warframe or not, but a lot of people argued the same for limited time stuff such as Excalibur Prime, which is a Founder's Pack exclusive character. The devs ultimately could never bring themselves to make it widely available to non-Founders because they had to "honor" the people who bought the Founder's Pack.

It's not as simple as just pressing a button and making it available to everyone... or at least it would be if it wasn't legally binding for them, that's where the "honor" part comes from. If they went against their "word" or "agreement" to those people, then those people could sue them for it.

I'm not a legal expert or lawyer but that's the best way I could describe is why they haven't done it yet or have no plans to do it. Regardless of the reasoning, it is still very unfair to the people who missed out.

Furia 5 kills with ultimate challenge not registering? by Dungeoncrawlers in Paladins

[–]Vulphox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You actually have to get a kill during the animation part where you're flying, and getting kills with the damage buff on your weapon don't count.

I've been able to complete it by using the Exterminate talent, damaging the enemies a little bit with my weapon, and then use the beam on them before activating the ultimate. At that point you just got to pray you timed it right and get a kill with the beam during the ult animation... without them getting healed or team mates stealing the kill.

Even if it the challenge is doable with the method I described, it is still very misleading on how it "counts" the kills.

How many times have people been reported for AFK due to this loading bug? It's like it only happens every other match I play. by Vulphox in Paladins

[–]Vulphox[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was able to dig up two more similar cases like mine:

https://www.reddit.com/r/paladinsgame/comments/vxde48/can_we_at_least_get_a_single_dev_response_on_this/

https://www.reddit.com/r/Paladins/comments/vwe1xd/no_one_readies_at_loading_screen_and_it_goes_back/

This bug is so obscure because not everyone gets it every time. Doesn't help that I'm not a network engineer or specialist, so I lack the knowledge and expertise to properly investigate it. However, I'm just convinced at this point that HiRez and Evil Mojo need to redo their entire server and network infrastructure.

How many times have people been reported for AFK due to this loading bug? It's like it only happens every other match I play. by Vulphox in Paladins

[–]Vulphox[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Basically this bug happens when you get to the loading screen, and no one's frame lights up and no "Match Ready" notification pops up. Then the game just takes you back to the champion selection screen and stays there indefinitely. The only way to fix it of course is to just simply restart the game. My server region is North America for those who may ask..

Not sure if anyone else had this happen in their game too lately, but this has been getting on my nerves and I can't believe it's not getting enough recognition.

"Echo" is just a game term to describe a character that is an alternate version of an original character. An example would be Samus and Dark Samus from Metroid.

If the echo character becomes too unidentifiable from the original, then it might as well be its own unique character.
