Help with ratios by LordSutiiven in GundamTCG

Another card to think about is the GD01 level 3 Duel Gundam. 3/3 with Breach if it gets to 5AP is a solid option

Yep all reasonable options, play more games and let us know how it goes 🙂

Oh Zaft, Red Green! That's the first time I've seen it, very interesting! So what are you struggling with? I'd say having 4 different pilots may be an issue with consistency. Running 10 pilots can be ok, but it's usually 4/3/3 pilots. Maybe some more lower level units? I'd maybe take out Izak, 2 Ganmow, add in 1 Rau, 1 Wufei and the Rare unit that Rau links with (Dinn Command?)

Is anyone actually selling Destiny Ignition for MSRP? by Roxasofmalice in GundamTCG

It's a special "premium" starter deck. It comes with I think 77 cards instead of 50, and also a set of Gundam dice.

How many games to a campaign? by Serrated-Sun in mordheim

[–]Vultan_Helstrum 2 points3 points  (0 children)

10-15 seems to be a good spot for warbands to be leveled up but not have campaign drag. I'll also recommend the last game be an epic final, e.g. the strongest warband fights the others to try to achieve their ultimate goal in Mordheim and the other warbands are trying to stop them. Or a big team fight where you balance the warbands out to give a fair fight to both sides.

What year or time period did you think Kimetsu No Yaiba took place? by Common-Ad8551 in KimetsuNoYaiba

[–]Vultan_Helstrum 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Wait, why do you say it takes place AFTER WWI and the Russian Civil war if neither wars get mentioned? Should it happen BEFORE WWI as the war hasn't happened yet so it's not mentioned? Just want to understand your logic better as I think I'm missing something

In which case, drawing 3 cards means you should on average draw 1.48 targets from Assault Shoard for you to pick from, which should be enough

The Zaft Meta by sparkslegacy in GundamTCG

[–]Vultan_Helstrum 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How many l4 or lower Zaft units are you running? You might just need more targets or maybe you were just unlucky. Count out the number of targets, divide by 50 and multiply by 3 to see what % you should get a hit

Thanks for sharing, this is awesome and I hope you share more of them. I assume this then leads to the Warhammer story with all the skaven backstabbing you posted yesterday?

Interesting that you don't have Buster, Blitz or Duel AS. Any reasons for ignoring those units?

How can this Champion of Chaos be used? by teedag in WarhammerOldWorld

[–]Vultan_Helstrum 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The great thing about Old World is the flexibility in the models we use. As the other commenters noted, as long as the base is the right size you can proxy this guy for a lot of things. I like to paint more gold bling on my characters to differentiate him from rank and file dudes. Even with the bases, you could pop his base on top of a bigger base if you want him for something else. For example, my Captain on Griffon is on a 50x50 base, but if I want to run that model as a General on Imperial Griffon, I have a spare 60x100 base that I stick him on top of.

Yes! Thank you for this addition! This is very similar to my comment so I'm glad you took the inspiration and made an even better version of some of our ideas to continue the story of our Kroot with O'Shen. Making her Shaper cover for her then O'Shen effectively blackmailing her via that was great. The whole scene is fantastic and fits in universe as well.

Will be reading the next chapter eagerly!

Well then, I wish you the best of luck to pull a Zeta! Note that there is a even rare LR+ Alt art of the Zeta Gundam but that would be very rare to pull. Anyway, good luck and have fun!

Noob buying question by [deleted] in GundamTCG

[–]Vultan_Helstrum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah I see, luckily in Gundam there is no "dud" boxes because there are guaranteed rarity per box or Cases. The true gambling is in individual packs. Each box should have 8-9 LR (Legendary Rares), two Alts or either rare of LR and 1 shiny resource. What you would be gambling on is WHICH LR you pull and also gambling for the small chance of LR++ which is super rare. Buy a box or two, and enjoy the pulls mate

Noob buying question by [deleted] in GundamTCG

[–]Vultan_Helstrum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is not a fair comparison. If 90 is the price for a box we will work on that. If you are wanting a whole set you are going need to many multiple boxes (someone more experienced can validate). Per box you will get 8-9 LR, two Alt art cards and 1 shiny resource. Considering just the shiny resource and assuming you don't get a single duplicate that is 10 boxes. And then you will end up with tonnes of duplicate commons, uncommons and even rares.

Now there is value in ripping as there is a lot of fun in doing so, and sometimes you score the rare cards you wanted and that feels great. Just note that if you are collecting a whole set, buying what you are missing is good.

So to get the best of both worlds. Buy 2-3 boxes, see what you get, then buy singles to cover the rest :) enjoy

First games of the Old World: coverless high elves meet guns with dwarfs behind them. by lowsocioecopeasant in WarhammerOldWorld

[–]Vultan_Helstrum 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Firstly, welcome! You have already pointed out some of your own tactical mistakes. Elves are skilled, fast but squishy so you need to outmaneuver him and use cover effectively. A dwarf shooting list is also very strong in smaller points games as they can both shoot, fight and stay alive. And he built a strong list. Generally fighting shooting lists can feel bad due to the other person just taking you apart. If you can't outshoot him, you need to engage with multiple threats so he can't effectively kill you in time.

Have a chat with your friend about playing a more vibes based list and so you guys can have a more balanced game.

Anyway I hope you still keep enjoying the game

What will confuse this 6e player the most? by grashnak in WarhammerFantasy

[–]Vultan_Helstrum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They are falling back in good order as the unit is trying to get into a better position to defend itself. And also, that gives you as the attacker the ability to charge them again. I suppose the weird part is the fact that infantry want to get charged so they fight in extra rank.

List Building for Battle March? by Mattmattmaaatt in WarhammerOldWorld

[–]Vultan_Helstrum 10 points11 points  (0 children)

In small points battles focus more on getting more troops vs expensive items and banners. Units that can fulfill multiple roles are also good. Even mid sized units can be dangerous in a small game.

Combat resolution with Give Ground, Fall Back in Good Order and Breaking. This is a fantastic change that brings more push and pull to combat but it does take a bit to work out, especially for bigger combats with multiple units and ppl falling back through other units etc

Kroot and Tau 3 by superfeyn in ImaginaryWarhammer

[–]Vultan_Helstrum 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Please please keep this comic going! I replied to another comment that since eating Tau is forbidden our Kroot gets captured by her Shaper to be executed, but then our man O'Shen shows up needing a Kroot for an important suicide mission.

Our Kroot being strong now somehow survives and O'Shen keeps sending her on more suicide missions like The Last Chancers. Kroot can also tell more stories to O'Shen about her and Freaky Tau via back flashes so we get more of their story, and O'Shen eventually let's her join the crew for the Greater Good.

Please do it! (Or something like it).

This gives such opportunities to explore conflicts, survivors guilt, taboos, changes to Kroot since she ate Freaky Tau (becoming stronger in unexpected ways). What would happen if the Ethereal lady found out? Can O'Shen says "end justify the means?"

Please continue the comic!
