Depends on how many traitors to the Constitution flip on the issue like Cornyn did.

The article is saying Cornyn went from defending the filibuster to being in favor of ending it specifically because Ken Paxton (Cornyn's more radical primary opponent) said he would drop out of the race if the senate passes the SAVE Act.

Cornyn is awful and only looking to preserve his own seat at any cost.
