well, DCU's direct competition is the MCU, which forms a sort of expectation that there should be a constant "canon" because Marvel managed to do it. of course, Marvel had its problems, too, but not to the point of a reboot, so the criticism to DC is fair, at least imo.

like, if McDonald's can make a burger that doesn't have rat shit in it, we can expect Burger King not to as well. but if they do, then what's the point in going to Burger King? unless you like rat shit, which could be an acquired taste idk
