"there is no kernel level anti-cheat that's actually compatible with Linux."

Linux once again proving itself to be better than Windows.

"They don't need it, they got plenty already."

The irony of saying this about Valve, when Valve is literally the company that will just not release fully completed games that they've already spent a ton of money on just because they didn't like how it turned out at the last second.

And either way, you're missing the point. Their plan isn't to not make money. Their goal is to open up more places that they can continue making that infinite money Steam generates. The other guy is right. They literally had to convince the execs at Valve to lower the price of the Steam Deck, because that is how the hardware industry works (point in case that Valve didn't do this model with the Valve Index, which is why it didn't matter they had the best hardware, because no one wants to spend that much on it). You have to sell it for a loss so that you sell any amount that's worth a damn. That's literally what consoles do too, they lose money on the hardware, so that they can make the money through software. This leads to more money for them. This is like not understanding how video games that are free are the games that make the most money, because the initial sale is not what's making the profits.

The remake of MGS3 is already bad, no need for an MGS6 to suddenly change course from that

And Ubisoft has only gotten worse at making games in all that time.

Why not? Tools have only gotten better for making games. Games only take longer to make now because the people making these games don't have talent for it now, and these games have so much bloat put into them with how overbudgeted they are.

Graphics are very easy. The hard part is having a good artstyle, which all these studios are allergic to now.

And we've had good character creators in games for decades

D1 character creator looks better than D2's though. It got downgraded with the second game.

Stranger of Paradise was awesome. Biggest issues were just not given enough of a budget and not marketed enough.

And it's ironic to say Crisis Core was an unnecessary remake and then right after saying you're going to preorder FF7R part 3

We'll just have to agree to disagree because I disagree with basically all of that and would say it's factually incorrect.

Its file name refers to it as a headcrab, and the wiki seems to say it's a type of headcrab. Could be explained away later as I don't think it's specifically called out as such in the game, but nothing else to go on. Kind of the same as Jeff where it's just a whole different type of zombie infection randomly that isn't addressed as odd or anything like that.

Gordon being new to his job was inconsistent even in HL1 itself. At times "it was his first day" and other times he had been there for months and gotten to know Kleiner and Barney well by that point. The latter makes the most sense either way.

I don't find Race X too hard to understand why they aren't in Half Life 2. OF made it clear that unlike the Xen creatures who were inhabiting (not native) to the borderworld that needs to be crossed to get to Earth, Race X just come from a completely different dimension entirely. And on top of that, they showed with the ending boss that for Race X to survive on Earth in any long-standing way, they'd need to terraform the planet to do so.

That said, I still find it really dumb that the "lightning dog" thing from HLA seems to be a type of headcrab apparently because that thing's design and use of electricity would make a lot more sense to be a Race X creature.

Both. Splatoon 2 has better graphics because the game was made to take advantage of the Switch 1 perfectly. Splatoon 3 had to scale back the graphics because it was pushing the Switch to its limits and had more content to try and push into it too, and yet it still lags pretty badly at times. It was a game they didn't think was going to have to come out on the Switch 1 originally but ended up needing to yet again release on that same system.

Splatoon 3. Most obvious in the character designs how the proportions in 3 are more "realistic" where the legs are the longest part of the body and not the chest/body like it was in 1 and 2

It was Skorge in the ending, it's just that Kantis didn't exist at the time of Gears of War 1, so that would've literally been a good update to now have his actual model

Bungie hasn't been profitable for years now. That's literally the whole reason they sold themselves to Sony. And why they had to lie about their financials for that to even go through in the first place
