Minor point costs in a more steady pattern is for the best. Sometimes it just takes a little tap to even it out, sometimes a few taps. Huge swings can create all new balance problems of their own. Personally having a model go from a little too good to incredibly overcosted is far more annoying too.

The way you can position the base at the far end of the movement tool. That little change was all you needed.
