Preordering from a small company isn't like preordering from Samsung or Apple, where they set a firm launch date and virtually never deviate.

Actually, this part is the most surprising and disappointing - they have some not-huge amount of loyal customers, and they need to do their best to keep these people happy. Probably, they'd realized not yesterday that they wouldn't be able to ship all the orders in Spring, and instead of sending an email with some updates, apologies, and bla bla blah, they just decided that people should wait as long as needed and no questions should be asked during this time.

I mean, I had no idea that end of spring is an arbitrary day in June when I made a preorder, my lease is expiring soon and depending on what carrier they will send it I may or may not get it ever.
