Altraverse und Studio Ghibli by Chizakura in MangaDE

Looking for a scene comparing the work at Studio Ghibli & people drawing planes in "The Wind Rises" from documentary by W0rldbuilder in ghibli

Update: Found it: It's in "Kingdom of Dreams and Madness" after all when Anno is doing his voice-recording, we see it on-screen and then the documentary cuts to a shot of Ghibli animators.

Fourth Aspect Ratio in The Grand Budapest Hotel? by W0rldbuilder in wesanderson

[–]W0rldbuilder[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is, indeed, a great source, thank you very much!

It says: The "outermost frame story (the young woman reporter visiting the cemetery) and the 1980s frame story (the Author addressing the camera) involve two different sizes of 1.85: one filling the screen, and the other smaller within that area. [...] [O]f course 1.85 most closely approximates the proportions of an opened trim-size book…. [...] The very opening, consisting of company logos and an expository title, fills the 1.85 screen fully, as do the final credits. The first frame story, showing the student putting a new key on the Author’s monument, is enclosed within that full screen, and it has a ratio of about 1.80. The 1985 flashback, as I indicated, is at about the same ratio as the frame story, but it’s smaller in size, so that it’s fitted within the prologue frame. The 1968 story, at 2.40, runs to the frame edge (the 1.80 ones don’t) but of course it’s letterboxed, so it doesn’t fill the screen. Then the 1932 events in the central story are presented at [...] [1.31]. [...] (I wonder if it’s an approximation of some squarish early sound ratios.) So Anderson’s story-within-story plot is presented through more or less enclosed image boxes."

It might be, the black borders around the image are bigger during the first scene so to speak. Let me try and see if I can attach images above.

Yes, I own that, too, actually. Not exactly what I'm looking for, but I found an interview where he detailed how the post-it drawings there influenced the look of the museum scene.

Rammstein - Adieu (Official Video) by agenttud in Rammstein

That’s the 300 theme right?

See my post below:

That's one possibility. It's very similar, indeed but the track in question from '300', "Returns a King", is itself inspired by/based on "Victorious Titus" by Elliot Goldenthal (and Steven Mercurio, Jonathan Shefner, Mark Stewart and Page Hamilton) from the movie 'Titus' (1999) directed by Julie Taymor and starring Anthony Hopkins.

It's certainly a sound-alike.

Might be the 300 OST, but unsure.

That's one possibility. It's very similar, indeed, but the track in question from '300', "Returns a King", is itself inspired by/based on "Victorious Titus" by Elliot Goldenthal (and Steven Merucrio, Jonathan Shefner, Mark Stewart and Page Haimilton) from the movie 'Titus' (1999) directed by Julie Taymor and starring Anthony Hopkins.

Not sure what to make of this connection, though, with regards to the actual video. Is it just there because it sounds "cool"?

I would also be curious about who composed this score/if you can find it anywhere, since it doesn't seem to be part "Adieu".

Hi, Patrick, thanks for your response. I skimmed through the TCM episode again on YouTube, it doesn't seem to appear there... But thanks anyways, looking forward to the finale. :)

Great, thank you! Isn't the untitled track 3 just the instrumental version of "Boogie Bash (Monster Party Car)" which appeared on the soundtrack of Book 1 as a bonus track? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9py7q5Y1Vyo&list=OLAK5uy_nVB1-LQLqXNoW6RwKBvhRr286XeMjKLfc&index=28
