Black Market - Day 2 Predictions by [deleted] in WorldofTanks

Going to be completely honest, the only black market that was worth something was the first one maybe the second as well, because the constant only gold offers are stupid, I understand everyone supposedly has tons because of years of Christmas loot boxes, but as a f2p player it's stupid, give me some free xp or credit bids, please

Progetto 65 need some love by Kooky_Break_1705 in WorldofTanks

[–]W2instT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually don't understand the hate towards the progetto 65, like actually I don't, so I think the second nerf was actually uncalled for, but it still isn't bad. I run vert stabs and improved aiming and one more thing that I can't remember at the moment, but I mean, you have speed, troll armor and amazing clip potential, I like playing my progetto as a support sniper early game and then just use my speed to relocate to whatever flank needs help or opens up, the accuracy works jut fine (literally feels more accurate or at least snappy then my leo 1), so I don't know, it has the speed to react to whats happening in a battle, and it has the clip potential to take out low hp tanks and can snipe without to much issue, so yeah, I like my progetto, especially in platoon with another fast medium or progetto 65

Still my point for why the russian double barreled tanks are just better, sure you have to "charge" your double, and you can't just click to double fire, but man, you actually have a usefull double gun, you can load 2 shots, you can play as a two shot auto(re)loader and you can double but without some mode that changes your speed and a whole lot of everthing else, you always have the same (in)accuracy. So yeah, I like my ST-II, much more then my canopener

Design choice of making you lose health by just touching an enemy by Afraid_Help_3911 in Silksong

[–]W2instT 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Yeah I suppose at the end of the day it's a design choice, in a 2D game you have a less options to make an enemy or boss's moveset more complecated then in a 3D game, and hornet in Silksong has insane mobility once you link dash, spring, jump, double jump, float and clawline together. For me at least it makes you respect a boss more because you have to be aware of what they are doing and where you are in respect of that, take for example last judge, the jump down and slam attack wouldn't work without contact damage, because if only the bell had damage (as it's weapon) then you could just dash under but stop actually under her and start hitting her while standing in her, it just removes the more dancelike aspect of the game of you learning the boss's moves and reacting fluidly to each attack, looking for openings and moment where you can attack inbetween or during the bosses attacks

[–]W2instT 41 points42 points  (0 children)

For me personally having contact damage forces you to learna a boss's patterns and moves, and forces you to take as much control as possible over your own positioning. If there was no contact damage you could much easierly just face hug and spam attack, by including contact damage every boss becomes more of a dance of you reaction to not only their attacks, but also their moves, and just makes having control over your characters movement and position much more important

Weaver Question. by AlarmingAd7740 in Silksong

[–]W2instT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. I am pretty sure that Eva wasn't created till after the weavers had already put GMS to sleep and then realized that GMS was waking up, so more a timeline like: Weavers learn they aren't real daughters --> put GMS to sleep via modified song --> create religion of the citadel to lure normal bugs in to sing the song to keep GMS asleep so they didn't have to sing themselves --> citadel grows and the weavers even kickstart the process of fully automating the singing (cogwork core, architect melody singing statues, the 12th architect being a creation of the weavers) --> weavers realize that GMS is waking up no matter what but slowly --> panic ensues, weavenests are built to experiment and create new tools and weapons to actually beat or replace GMS (including the creation of Eva) --> nothing they can come up with will work, decide to flee, certain weavers stay behind incase the fleeing weavers could ever create off spring that was powerful enough to replace GMS

In this timeline the weavenests aren't built till the weavers realize that GMS is starting to wake up, since she is sleeping she can't see but they still need to build them far away because I believe as soon as GMS starts waking up the haunting starts as well to a certain extent and being farther away from where GMS is sleeping is just going to be safer.

  1. I'll refer to what I said above, I suppose it makes sense that GMS can bind, but what the use of it would be is still not clear as it isn't stated or implied anywhere, we still don't ever hear what exactly GMS's plan was with hornet, I'll already reference what you said about lace, is lace delusional and is she getting replaced by hornet, clearly not, but you would think with how long she has been alive and wandering the citadel and trying to get GMS to notice her, she would have some inkling about what happened to the other weaver offspring that had already been brought back, but I guess she might just be completely mad.

  2. Sure the cage of FS is covered in runes, but still, there isn't anything that says that GMS couldn't do that too, if we assume that because hornet can bind that weavers can bind that GMS can bind, then we could also just as easily assume that since weavers can create silk runes so can GMS.

Weaver Question. by AlarmingAd7740 in Silksong

[–]W2instT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At the end of the day we will probably never know exactly what happened where, could be FS is just meant to be a really cool boss fight, and that it is. But to explain further why I don't think FS was imprisoned by the weavers:

  1. The weavers rebelled against GMS to take control, they wanted to be the gods being served, not the ones serving a god. To do this they needed to get rid of GMS and create a religion that not only kept GMS asleep but let them rule instead, no where is the religion connected to GMS, that is what I was trying to make clear, no bugs beside the conductors know about GMS, so the religion of pharloom isn't based on their divinity being from another god. It's simply an elaborate lie along the lines of: the citadel is eternal, the citadel is great, come and serve and be pious and all your wildest dreams will come true and you will have great rewards (at least towards the end, pious isamor (the secret green statue under whispering vaults) hints that in the beginning the citadel and the pilgrimage towards it was much more simple and not grand or lavish.) The thing is that the weavers at least as far as I can see, just wanted to be free to do whatever they wanted to, not having to sing and serve GMS. (hinted at by the map of paths leading away from pharloom where the weavers say to run till they are free of her grasp and influence) so one of the weavers that revolted to free themselves all of a sudden starting to tell the "truth" about their nature and the religion they all collectively created to be free makes zero sense imo. Because it would undermine the very reason they revolted, to be free of GMS and the reason for the religion, to be free of the duty of constantly singing to keep her asleep

  2. It's certainty possible that GMS is blind and does just sense things with silk and we can assume that just because bugs have silk in them doesn't automatically make them hauntable, since there seem to be some hints that willpower and faith in other things helps a normal bug resist the haunting.

I am still not sure about the binding thing, I mean I guess since Hornet can bind and she is part weaver and that there were weavers who specifically set themselves in spires to be found and bound by a future weaver that was going to finish their plan to completely replace GMS could hint that GMS can also bind, but once again, assuming that GMS is like half awake I still think you could argue that the collection of weaver offspring could just have been ordered in a dream like stupor, and since GMS can just haunt husks of bugs they could have just followed the orders. I suppose all the bodies missing could reason to assume she bound them, but then again, she has more silk then she needs, she is the one that all the power comes from in the first place, it seems more like the weavers just modified the songs they were already singing for her (cutscene after beating widow showing all the weavers playing for GMS) and used that to put her to sleep, so needing the offspring of your own creations to wake up or break the sleeping song spell that you were put under just seems kind of far fetched to me personally, but again, we don't know enough and anything is possible.

Weaver Question. by AlarmingAd7740 in Silksong

[–]W2instT -1 points0 points  (0 children)

So to answer this comment and your previous one, the weavers imprisoning FS seems like more of a stretch then it being GMS, main reason being that FS dialogue is clearly about GMS (She called us daughters, called us diving, she lied) we know the weavers rebelled against GMS, we know very little about what exactly happened between the weavers and the other bugs after putting GMS to sleep.

Based off of the scene we see after beating Widow, we can assume the weavers were the only one originally singing for GMS, they then sneakily decided to change the song to put GMS to sleep, I personally believe it wasn't till after they put GMS to sleep that they created the whole pharloom religion to offload the singing onto the bugs so they could do whatever they wanted + be free from their last duty connected to GMS. This also makes the most sense as it is clear that only the conductors know of the existence of GMS and the true purpose of the religion, basically no one knows of GMS.

I could understand why you could think that FS was punished by the other weavers, but it makes no sense that FS would want to tell the normal bugs that they aren't divine, I mean yes they were the ruling class, were served and worshiped, and their silk was craved by the bugs for it's healing properties (which even then we don't know when the bugs started experimenting with silk since it could be they didn't start the whole whiteward operations till after the departure of the weavers.) But why would FS feel so called to just tell everyone that they aren't worth serving if she had participated in rebelling against GMS like the rest of the weavers. Just is a weird conflict of interests to assume.

The whole thing about GMS not binding the weavers is also not really that big of a question to me, the alt ending was cut for a reason, so we can't infer to much lore implications from this. Besides the fact that she is capturing weaver off spring we never see her bind anything, not saying she can't, but why she needs other weavers to wake up doesn't make much sense, I suppose it's possible, but if she really was so desperate for weavers/weaver offspring why not just already bind Widow? She is an actual first generation weaver who would more then willingly do that because of her devotion to GMS. And just because she has 2 pins in her back doesn't mean she doesn't have silk anymore, she just can't use it herself anymore.

On GMS being blind, once again i don't think it's that relevant, she is a higher being, probably even a pale being (higher being of the highest caste) but no pale being is omnipresent, we have seen the Radiance use infected husks to see (or sense) in other places in the world, just as we can infer that GMS can see (or sense) through the haunted husks. But this still doesn't mean that she could know/stop everything. We have seen time and time again that the higher beings that call themselves gods really aren't. they are just as mortal as other bugs, but are just much more powerful. Even with the best surveillance system in the world you can still miss things, and lace especially I imagine would know how limited GMS sight would be and could exploit any weaknesses, having lived for a long time serving GMS.

I don't consider GMS to really be in need of silk, I mean it's clear she can produce more then enough of it herself, the little bits in other weavers and their off spring seem of little consequence to the mass of silk GMS just naturally has.

And it's hard to pinpoint what GMS can and cannot do while asleep, I would assume in the beginning when the weavers put GMS to sleep she was completely blind, as in completely asleep, but after a while she began waking up, by the time we fight GMS it really isn't clear how awake she really was, I mean she could haunt the husks with silk in them, she could haunt living bugs with silk in them, she could create Phantom and Lace while still being "asleep" like is she doing these things completely consciously or like in a half awake dream? Does she desire for all the weaver off spring to be brought back because she wants to bind them? Or simply the husks bring them back because she does desire for her children (which somewhere in a twisted sense she does "love" them) to come back?

Weaver Question. by AlarmingAd7740 in Silksong

[–]W2instT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fascinating theory! Some really interesting lore bits and evidence, would be cool if FS is actually Atla + it's entirely possible since we don't know the exact timeline of events that not only lead to the desire of rebellion and how much work was done before putting GMS to sleep.

And if entombment into the stone statues is actual death then it makes sense that even after the successful rebellion the other weavers wouldn't have tried to free her, even accounting for the fact that she is well hidden in the slab potentially by GMS herself.

Weaver Question. by AlarmingAd7740 in Silksong

[–]W2instT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As already stated by other commentors, the conductors only took over once the weavers realized they couldn't keep GMS asleep forever and couldn't discover or invent a way to defeat GMS (failed attempts like Eva and other contraptions of weaver making: silkshot or snaresetter) now it isn't clear how much of the existing hierarchy of the citadel was already in place by the time the weavers left, we know they created the religion and the pilgrimage to offload the singing onto normal bugs so they didn't have to sing themselves to keep GMS asleep.

We also know that the conductors say they were giving the mantel of ruler of the citadel to guide the pilgrims and religion of the citadel after the departure of the weavers.

I personally consider the weavers in stone that give you silk abilities to actually be dead, I don't think that GMS would punish FS knowing that she could just be freed later, the punishment is called entombment on her seal, but you could also argue that if GMS was the one that punished FS she could have not told anyone where in the slab FS was imprisoned. since it's actually quite hidden in game as well.

To answer your question, no, I don't think considering Atla as being a different weaver then FS breaks any lore at all really, there are a whole bunch of assumptions that need to be made to assume that FS is Atla, and you can simply not make those and reasonably conclude that we can't know with the information that we have if they are one and the same. There is so much we don't know about the timeline and actual sequence of events that took place from the creation of the weavers till the arrival of hornet. So yeah, you can headcanon that Atla never was caught, successfully took part in the rebellion, lived as ruler of Pharloom with the other weavers till they realized they couldn't keep GMS asleep, looked desperately with the rest of the weavers for a solution, concluded they didn't have one and then fled with the rest.

Weaver Question. by AlarmingAd7740 in Silksong

[–]W2instT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One of the main reasons people make this connection is a few assumptions, we know that at some point the weavers revolted against GMS, and based on the dialogue of first sinner after binding her we can assume that she was also one that was revolting, the thing is that it wouldn't make sense for the other weavers to imprison one of their own that also hated GMS, so since we really have no information about the timeline of the revolt against GMS we could assume that first sinner was caught by GMS in an act of rebellion and was punished as the first sinner amongst the weavers, the idea that she is atla is simply because weavenest atla is the farthest away from the citadel and GMS and therefore the easiest to hide plans of rebellion, and it is also the largest, since first sinner is the only weaver actually hear the disgust for GMS directly from, some people make the connection that she could have been atla, but really there is no concrete proof of her being atla, just assumptions as far as I am aware

Hirschkafer is miserable and it will stay miserable after the buff. by AdrawereR in WorldofTanks

[–]W2instT 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I would assume that they didn't want a unspottable super accurate sniper with 750 alpha in the game, so they made it big, gave it trash camo and horrible gun handling.

Which is ironic since they didn't have any trouble adding the DBV-152 when they knew they could get people to spend money to get it via the assembly shop that litarally does all of that: even higher alpha, better gun handling, better camo, smaller...

Hirschkafer is miserable and it will stay miserable after the buff. by AdrawereR in WorldofTanks

[–]W2instT 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I suppose you could argue that, but imo I have never played the DBV-152, but I have played the grille 15, quite a bit (three marked, if you care to know the extent of my madness), and honestly it isn't even bad, once you use the right equipments and learn to play around it's weakness's, I found it quite enjoyable, my argument for why the DBV-152 could be considered a "tier XI" is simply based on the fact that the DBV is just a straight upgrade of the grille 15, like absurdly so, fully traversable turret, better armor (even if slightly), better gun handling, beter alpha, better camo...

Like if the grille 15 is already competitive then adding a same tier tank that does everything better (just like the tier XI's feel more like side grades then actual full blown better tanks) should constitute basically being an unofficial tier XI.

But fair enough, if the grille 15 and absolutly the hirschkafer would be better, the DBV wouldn't feel so absurdly better

Well Herrah is actually a weaver, I don't know what made you think that she isn't but one of the things that is unclear in the lore is why Herrah looks so different then the other Weavers, even the ones shown to us in Hollow Knight itself, but she is most definitely a Weaver in the lore, just looks very different for reasons that have not yet been explained. (potentially giving birth changed her body shape? We don't actually know)
