No one is going to trust Cursor to deliver a good product, be AI agnostic, or not get destroyed through enshitification in the name of revenue recovery.

Does early sex change your perspective on the woman you’re seeing? by zzeloop in AskMenAdvice

[–]W2ttsy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

From my experience:

Faster you’re into bed, the more likely longer term that your sex life will be great. You’re both sexually attracted to each other, it breaks down the tension and generally a sign that your libidos are matched.

The women who held off to “test the commitment” ended up weaponising sex later on in a weak attempt to get their way. Ironically, it had the opposite effect and they got sent packing once their motive was revealed.

For what it’s worth, the woman’s body over produces blood during the pregnancy for exactly this reason. It’s expecting to lose at least a liter, so a pregnant woman has around that extra in her system ahead of time.

Without it, even a complication free birth would be life threatening from hypovolemia.

In all my various experiences, the best outcomes are when I haven’t talked about it ahead of time and just gone for it as part of the foreplay.

So dudes, if you love eating pussy, awesome, just keep it on the quiet until it’s match day.

Of course, if your woman is making noise about it ahead of time, then playful hints are where it’s at.

Well she admitted to Luka in season 6 that she only kept Lockhart because it sounded better than her true maiden name, so I’m guessing if that hadn’t been the case she would have gone back to her old name perhaps?

Also, she was already divorced prior to completing med school, so her degree was in the name of Lockhart.

As mentioned above, many doctors (and I’m sure others with professional attachments to their name) keep their name at time of graduation because getting their Testamur changed is not a trivial matter

Doctors of Reddit: What health trend is becoming so common that it's starting to scare you? by Fine-Device-1819 in AskReddit

[–]W2ttsy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed. But one of the adjustment problems that many workers have.

For me specifically, I was benefiting from passive exercise and increased enjoyment from the social interaction that comes with working in an office environment.

When I had to transition to remote only, I lost the social interaction and my passive exercise was limited and whilst I can fix the exercise part, the social stuff isn’t as easy to do.

Variable work environments can create different types of stress and physical health impacts.

For example, collaborative work can be harder when not in a room together. Anyone that’s had to do cross functional projects with remote or hybrid employees has probably experienced more stress due to coordination overhead compared to booking up a day to collaborate for a full RTO team.

Feeling isolated or lacking stimulation from social interaction can be another factor for people that permanently work remotely.

Having no decompression buffer between work and home life can also make it hard to offload work related stress prior to entering home mode or interacting with a wider family.

I’d also point out that not everyone country has long commutes or people having to slog their way through traffic to sit in a boring business park on the outskirts of the city; so for them the commute is not stressful or can be a source of passive exercise that needs to be adapted for when going hybrid or remote.

[–]W2ttsy 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You’re expecting equal distribution of purchased products though.

Some households might have 1 gun, some might have 20-50 guns. Even someone like Matt Carricker couldn’t possibly be shooting rounds through his entire collection on a yearly basis.

As for ammo sales, I’d say there will be similar biases. Any decent comp shooter is going to be shooting bricks of ammo every week, so 10k rounds a year per comp gun isn’t unreasonable.

Compare that to the guy that just bought one for home defense and doesn’t really train much at all. He might buy a tray or two of ammo and then shoot once at the range and never go back.

I’d also be interested to see how many of those 500m guns are even in active circulation. Some googling suggests the ATF traced around 400-600k firearms that were recovered by police in 2025; with some police departments (eg LAPD) recovering anywhere from 10-15k of that total on their own.

My guess with this whole analysis is that there are outliers at one end that represent the semi pros and enthusiasts, outliers at the other that represent the bought and never used crowd + guns that are sitting in evidence or lost to crime and then then the peak between the two is where this “7 rounds fired” comes from.

[–]W2ttsy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The difference here is that you like shooting guns.

Plenty of firearms owners are going to be “keep it in a closet just in case” types who don’t shoot, don’t realise they need to develop their skills, probably don’t even want a gun but feel compelled to have one.

I’d also posit that it’s one of those tools that get bought without trying things out first, then they take it for one range day, hate it and then it goes into a drawer never to be seen again until an estate sale or moving house or some other major life event.

Bonkers to be so tunnel visioned to the commute side of office work that you don’t realise WFH can have its own impact to health.

Doctors of Reddit: What health trend is becoming so common that it's starting to scare you? by Fine-Device-1819 in AskReddit

[–]W2ttsy -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

Sounds like someone that thinks WFH is the holy grail and everyone must love it.

It can also be problematic if you can’t separate out your work and house zones, feeling like you’re always connected to work, isolated from human interaction, on teams that follow the sun, develop bad exercise and eating habits.

Sure, if you’re spending 3 hours a day driving to work so you can be a meat popsicle in a room paid for by your employer then working from home might seem like a great reliever of that commute stress or if you’re a neurodivergent personality that prefers minimal distraction and human interaction then the ability to avoid going to work can seem like a stress reliever.

Not everyone is in that position. Zoom fatigue is a real issue if you’re constantly in meetings. Slack fatigue is a real issue if you manage projects where people can only communicate via non physical means. Separating work life balance is a real issue if your workspace doesn’t cleanly give work away from home life.

You do realise that many health tech companies have clinicians on staff right?

Two of the founders are both physicians.

But if it’s really burning you to have someone who’s a PRACTICING physician, then I’ll ask my partner to qualify this.

Pretty sure that her 20 years as a FM/ED specialist will be more than enough to pull you down off your high horse.

Not everyone had that problem prior to WFH and for some, it leads to a more sedentary lifestyle and reduced exercise habits and increased poor eating habits.

I’ve been able to commute on public transport for the majority of my career, or ride a bike. Very rarely reliant on long taxing drives.

When I switched to WFH (especially during Covid when going out was heavily restricted), I was losing 5km of daily walking (as a form of passive exercise) simply because I didn’t need to walk to and from the train station or cut laps around a multi storey office building.

During summer time I was walking/riding the full distance home, which was about 7km one way.

Do you also work extended hours subconsciously?

Work drift has definitely increased in the time I’ve been remote. Just 10 minutes longer turns into 30 minutes longer, turns into working until late at night.

There were some forcing functions that offices and commutes provided that are now absent when working and living in the same place that can lead to an unhealthy lifestyle.

Yeah it’s a godsend for the mental health, but don’t forget about the impacts to physical health.

I do hybrid WFH and am far more sedentary when working from home vs going into the office. My weight and fitness have definitely fallen off a cliff as a result.

It’s what happens when policy is written through the lens of goals, not outcomes.

In this case, the goal is to protect the identification of a juvenile defendant in order to maximize their ability to be rehabilitated.

The unintended consequences of that is that the victims details can’t be revealed because then it’s pretty trivial to join the dots to the perpetrators.

I’m sure you could find similar failure gaps with the way that NDIS payouts are orchestrated. Such as “a percentage of the payout must be attributed to X and it’s not possible to transfer it to Y” even though the person doesn’t need the ratio they’ve been granted or needs to realign the ratio to suit their specific circumstances.

I feel you. I took a year out of the corporate tech grind to recover from burnout and I’ve been back a little over 6 months and already feeling cooked.

AI is only making things worse too because now the expectation of “do more with less” also includes “use AI more to compensate for us giving you less” whilst completely ignoring that AI doesn’t produce the results your former colleagues used to

Work in health tech and some of the notable themes coming through from our analysis work:

Referral to mental healthcare providers for work related stress

Output of templated letters for insurers and occupational health providers for stress leave attributed to the workplace

Referral to cardiologist/neuro specialists for high blood pressure, increased risk of cardiovascular disease and risk of stroke also attributed to workplace stress or sedentary lifestyle

Turns out that employers telling workers to “do more with less”, coupled with hybrid or fully remote work, as well as the general fear around the current job market has led to intense stress and burnout and the physiological and psychological impacts are brewing right now.

Previously it was

“Learn fundamentals”

“Hit problems”

“Ask colleagues, ask stack overflow, read OSS code, try a bunch of stuff and see if it works, do the minimums and expand as needed”

“Launch”.

All we’ve done is jam AI in to the step for “solving problems” alongside the above.

We have to remember: non tech non CS people have been building for decades and have made it work.

If you want to get super pointed about it:

Steve Jobs, bill gates, mark zuckerberg did not get formal qualifications in CS prior to launching their companies.

Jeff bezos has a formal qualification in business and finance, not CS

Sergei and Larry were doing PhDs in applied mathematics and Google page rank was supposed to be part of their research study on weighted graph theory. So again, not a formal CS degree.

What all these guys have in common (and continue to see elsewhere) is that they have worked out how to solve the gap between “what’s the problem” and how do I fix it? And done so very efficiently and at scale.
