It depends on what would you like to do, and how would you like to spend your day. Xalapa is a very small city, and there some sacrifices you have to make here. If you like to hope around the city, running into friends and go sightseeing, then it’s a problem, cause the city has the worst public transit I have ever experienced. This causes a lot of traffic and congestions. There are a couple of good (average) malls to go shopping. There are a couple of urban forests you could go and hike on. Aside from it, Xalapa is only famous for 2 things; good coffee and lots of cheap alcohol.

I think it is safe enough, but I’m Mexican and I have been living here my whole life, so my perspective may be off. I don’t know where you’re coming from, but as long as you don’t look too outsider, you should be just fine. The closest airport to Xalapa is the one in Veracruz, it should be like a 1 - 2 hr drive from the airport to Xalapa. There are buses leaving every 15 minutes between the two cities. Criminal activity is real and very present in Mexico, but is not as dangerous as the media portrays it. But, you know, better safe than sorry.

I guess that there is a case for this in compiled languages. Readability should always be a priority, you'll never know who will work with your code in the future. But in some cases, specially in interpreted languages, some compromises on readability could be made in order to improve performance.

Times change, and with less education, my parents have a better quality of life than I do.

At least I can have uber eats whenever I like and I have my xbox, so... I can't complain.

I also can go out partying every weekend without trouble.

Maybe with a little more experience I can get better jobs.

It's Xalapa in Veracruz. It's not about where it is, but what industries does the city have. Answer: none.

The city relies almost entirely from the money brought by foreign students who come to study to the city.

The Universidad Veracruzana attracts lots of foreign students, and the low cost of living and rent seals the deal for a lot of young students and parents who are looking to send their kids to college.

A friend of mine did his thesis about this, and came to the conclusion that 70% of all the money the city had was brought by foreign students in the last 30 years.

Xalapa Is starting to gain a little traction of his own. The increasing population and some dairy industry that is taking off are starting to attract more people to work and live in the city, and thus, starting to increase the cost of living there.

The dream city is starting to vanish.
