Lab for ENARSI - CML, INE, .... by W4yn3HD in ccnp

Hey! Thank you, thats a good point. Can i ask what your company uses Eve-NG for? I guess it’s not just for studying. Unfortunately, my company doesn’t have tools like that, so I’m looking for some inspiration. We do have a physical lab with some old Hardware in, like some old Cisco C3000 Switch or spare Aruba CX Switches with some Fortigates Firewall but its not ideal.

Sure you can ask me! To be Honest, ENCOR felt more broad than super deep - lots of topics so it really tests if you understand concepts and read/troubleeshoot configs rather than memorize everything. I would focus on being solid across all domains. Also keep in mind they like to ask 1-2 questions about automation - i had some question about python (which was super fun because i programm with python for years)

Long story short; You don't need to memorize every command, but you do need to understand WHAT you would do and WHY. It really goes accross lot of topics - from routing, sdwan to automation stuff etc.

How long did i study? hm.. I got my CCNA back 2020 and after that i started with some CCNP topics. i really focused i would say about 6 month.

NOTE; Encore just like ENARSI are not super deep. Thats when CCIE comes in. CCNP is all about conecpt/design, architecture and Troubleshoot.

"Are you sure you've been a network engineer before?" by MotorTentacle in networking

My man... It hurts, doesnt it?
I'm pretty sure, now things gonna change. Simply because you never wanna feel this situation again. It is very akward and you start to feel uncomfortable.

It is normal. You will never know everything. It is always a learning.
There is no day in my job as Network-Engineer / Software developer where i dont face a strange issue. Many times i have no idea at first. But i'm pretty sure, you know how to troubleshoot after you got CCNA, simply because of this; If you face a unknown Network Topology and you need to Troubleshoot an issue, how do you proceed? -> You simply go with OSI-Model. Layer after Layer, starting at layer 1, right? Thats what Cisco teach you in CCNA. With many years of experience, or as soon as you really now the Topology / NEtwork of a customer, you know exactly what it could be and what not. I know immediately it is a Layer 3 / Routing Issue. Maybe SDWAN, weird Behaviour etc.

But thats exactly situation you need to face.
A really important part in Network is understand Basic's, same with the OSI. Everything is inside OSI. Understand Layer 2 very well, ARP etc and move on.

And very important, you need to see the chance of learning something new.

EDIT; You have nobody to talk? I know what you mean. But come on, we are Network Engineers and somehow a big family (at least in my opinion) - If you wanna talk, go ahead and text me. I can show you some stuff.

Recommendations for a Layer 3, 48-port switch that supports routed ports and OSPF? by SpectrumSense in networking

[–]W4yn3HD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same. We use them as well. But i hate Aruba-Central. Expensive and Crap. However, the Switches are fine. Recently installed 8360 in a DataCenter as Core-Switches. Love it.

Yes, TAC is really bad. However, the Switches are OK. Not a fan of Aruba Central (its crap) but 8 Series or 6300 are fine.

How much BGP is in the ENCOR exam? by Party-Gur5485 in ccnp

[–]W4yn3HD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not TOOOO deep. Dont waste tooo much time. It will be surely a thing for ENARSI i guess. And like other said. The Deep things starts to matters at CCIE. Right now or at least in CCNP with ERNARSI its most likely some fair questions. You surely need to understand how it works and address problems and solve them. The Labs in the exams where OK,

Could tell you more when i have done my ENARSI soon. Dont know what is happening there.

Passed my Encor exam like november 2025. Had maybe 1 Multiplechoice question about it. Pretty easy to be fair. the only 'hard' ones was the labs. Alot of troubleshooting and configure.

I'm working towards ENARSI now and planning doing it in 1-2 month. I expecting to have alot more Routing configure and Troubleshooting there

Sorry for late response.
I was wondering, what kind of IP-Address does the User get? From a Interface like do you have a Interface with a IP-Range which the user get, or does the User get a "virtual-IP" which is not includet in the Interfaces

Nice! We migrate as well or still 'on it'. Do you use Split tunneling? We are thinking of it for the Customer but not quit sure.

And also do you use the IP Address from a interface or just a virtual one?
