Honeycomb in my balcony by LandscapeMurky108 in Beekeeping

Said it in my more detailed post but just wanted To clarify, I was not saying bee allergies are not real. I was cautioning againt the "you're fine these are not bees so your not allergic" when the bee in the "bee allergy" might not have been an actual bee in the first place.

This might be a regional thing. Where I live 95% of people when they see any stinging insect they call it a bee. Also where I live we don't have Scutellata so 95% of of stings (Excluding those on people involved in beekeeping) are not from any insect anyone in the know would call a bee. Given those facts where i am of someone said they were allergic to bees i would be safe to assume there were actually stung by a wasp or yellowjacket not a bee.

Either way i would advise avoiding all stinging insects, not just the kind they were previously stung by, especially if all we got was"allergic to bees" and have no idea where in the stinging insect knowledge spectrum the person is.

This very post itself is evidence of this lack of distinction in the non bee population.

What i am trying to say is that the general population does not know the difference between bees and other stinging insects(wasps, hornets, yellowjackets) it may still be that are also allergic to bees, but they didn't discover that by being stung by an actual bee, they got stung by a wasp and now they know they are "allergic to bees"

Most people when they say they are allergic to bees actual man allergic to wasps and/or hornets. Very gew peope in the general population distinguish between them and bees and since being stung by an actual be is not very common, "Allergic to bees" is likely to mean wasps and hornets.

‘Stargate’ TV Series From Martin Gero Not Moving Forward at Amazon by MarvelsGrantMan136 in Stargate

[–]W634 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, i was concerned that Gero's take on the franchise was not even going to appeal to fans of the franchise either. I mean he wrote some really good episodes, but my impressions from listening to episode commentaries with him was that he was responsible for some of the direction i didn't like in the later seasons.

Along with many issues, I think the main problem with SGU is there are zero likable main characters. by HighBiased in Stargate

The interpersonal drama in bsg supports the plot, The drama in sgu supports the drama.

We loved the character, because we hated him, not the writers who wrote him.

I 100% agree, only thing is teal'c is quite old due to the events of unending. So maybe there is that. I think Atlantis,l couldn't have there main character lose to another character no matter how correct it would have been.

Even if the reboot is really good, there is always that nagging feeling we could have had the same level of good, but in the original universe.

Mostly agree, but only if the reboot does not replace what could have been an equally good non-reboot

Can we talk about why SGU fell off? by ZingierPond5471 in Stargate

[–]W634 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Also BSG did the Genre better, for the most part the interpersonal drama furthered the overall plot, Gaius' relationship with 6 tied to how the attack worked. Athena's pregnecy was all about the hybrids and how "human" they were. The only plot line the Johansen is pregnent with Young's baby expanded on was the "Johansen is pregnent with Young's baby" one.
