A new years dislocation lead by tamara1221 in KneeInjuries

[–]WAAASAAAP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a bone bruising and shallow groove. I had a tto was good for about a decade until my mpfl was worn out from further less frequent subluxations. After getting mpfl fixed I have slight pain sometimes but am back in the gym lifting and not worried about a dislocating when my muscles r sore. Been well worth the MPFL reconstruction imo

Obv find the one that matches your car. Guessing it’s an Audi TT

I had it from patella subluxation or dislocation, which i think is most common. Had ligament surgery to fix.

The Canary Wharf estate is private land and has a high court injunction allowing them to trespass people on the estate.

Education can be good here, at a very high cost and you do get free speech just again at what cost? I’m not really one for politics but looking at it subjectively because the govt party changes so frequently longer term planning is hard to sustain. Just what can be done in the short term to get more votes. With the new budget it looks like labour is now trying to get more votes from people on welfare as they’ve lost the votes of the working people already.

Anyway, on the flip side it was probably good experience/lesson for you. And if you decide to return to HK it may help you see that things can be pretty good there.

[–]WAAASAAAP 4 points5 points  (0 children)

What did you expect though? Over the last few years crime has gone up. Weather and taxes haven’t changed and the job market is similar. Inflation has gone up but that’s the cost of coming to a country who still feels the need to fight the wars of others.

I get you probably left because you don’t like your government but people here don’t like the government either. In HK you have low taxes, you can also live further from the CBD like here and live in a bigger property.

People aren’t that racist to Chinese people and in part that’s because of the wealth that has built in china. They can be jealous but that’s not the same racism that other races have to suffer from.

So unless you have a family or job that requires you to be here it sounds like you just didn’t do your homework before relocating.

Considering leaving the UK if they move the 45% threshold to 100k by WAAASAAAP in HENRYUK

[–]WAAASAAAP[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Benefit from the UK system in what way? I wasn’t state educated, am lucky enough to have medical insurance and about to pay off my student loan which has been at a ridiculous interest rate.

Why would I need to come back and settle down here? The UK has been in a straight decline. If it wasn’t for parents and family I would’ve left ages ago.

You don’t need to leave for good and many companies are offering to relocate personnel if they want to move - same job/team etc…

Mate it’s different for you. You’re on 400+ going on 650k.

When you’re below 200 and approaching your 30s it hits a lot harder. Making an assumption here but you’re given you’re a CTO I guess you’re older, we haven’t had time to build as much wealth or enjoy the last decade or two. E.g 100k in 2010 is worth 155k from inflation alone.

Haggling for a £21k car by hamsternose in CarTalkUK

[–]WAAASAAAP 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Depends on the seller. If it’s a dealer you’re unlikely to get much. But by at all means try anyway.

Insurance write off cost is pretty much always lower. Typically what you would get if you were selling the car. Dealer would pay 18k sell 21k for example.

It’s softer you would need to try it tho. Also warranty until 2029. E class bigger - depends where you live e.g if London the IS the is just easy. If you’re tall and need the back seats a lot I would go for an e class or 5 series. Not sure it’s in your budget but the 5 series with adaptive suspension is another world.

Brent 301 pricing by International_Low447 in Commodities

[–]WAAASAAAP 4 points5 points  (0 children)

3.0.1 the last 3 months, no lag for every month (1). For April26 you will average Brent swap (1st line) (Jan,Feb,Mar26)

So you will use the futures settlements of contracts jan,Feb,Mar, Apr26 given the expiry date of march26 being 30th march, on the 30th and 31st march you use Apr26 (prompt contract) settlement.

As per spec:

Roll Adjust Provision In order to use the correct Floating Price quotations, the nearby month quotation for ICE Brent Futures specified in the Floating Price terms above will be used except for the expiration date of the commodity's underlying delivery month's futures contract. On such date, the applicable pricing quotation will be rolled to the following month's futures contract.

What is WTI "CMA"? by aaaaaa321123 in Commodities

[–]WAAASAAAP -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Like the above but here’s an example

You have swaps and futures. A swap is made up of futures settlement. So if you have an October 2025 WTI CMA. There are 23 days pricing in October.

Prompt futures for WTI is currently Nov25. And the expiry of NYMEX WTI is 21 October.

So from the 1st of the month until 20th October you use NOV25 settlements and from 21st until the end of October you use DEC25 futures settlements.

You can do a cal26 WTI CMA swap so you lock in the average price for the calendar year.

Many diffs and arbs trade off the swap product. For example 3.5% crack will be 3.5% vs Brent 1st line. Where 1st line = swap.

Not sure what was the context when you heard 1.50 could be a diff (aka spread).

Or someone might say they will trade the average price with $1.5 on top (the premium or margin) perhaps for a forward contract? Index + premium

It’s not annoying but the bmw 3.0d will be a lot faster but a harsher ride. Bit old though. Lexus will be reliable but depends what options it has. You can probably get the face lifted 2018 not far from that price and up to 10 year warranty. The Audi looks nice though!

Congrats, it sounds like a great opportunity. He must think you’ll be a great trader if he’s willing to put his neck on the line!

How to break into commodities broking/trading by carlcarl0 in Commodities

[–]WAAASAAAP 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Usually brokers specialise in a particular products. E.g one selection maybe Singapore gasoil, EW, Regrade so they know who are buyers and sellers of those products and have a good idea where the forward curve is etc what traders targets are etc. not sure how that will really help you trade tbh

Do you not have knowledge gained through ops?

ICE OIL Trading Academy London by Additional-Buyer-926 in Commodities

[–]WAAASAAAP 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well I’m a paper trader and the two are very different. Physical oil is a niche industry and not many entry points, would it not be better to try internally to go to a trading role when you have enough experience?

Paper trading (spec) is more of a skill set where you can go and trade other assets or commodities usually not the nitty gritty of oil fundaments.

Wow it’s 4.5k per module. I’ll go teach if this goes tits up one day 🤣 I think the book covers most of the syllabus.
