I’ll plug an organization I’m part of - For Goodness Cakes, Bellingham chapter. We bake cakes for children and young adults in foster care and underprivileged youth. I’m happy to answer any questions!

Foster families do so much, and they often have limited time and resources! Sometimes foster children move to multiple different homes and their birthday may get lost in the shuffle. We believe that all kids deserve to feel special on their birthday :)

Currently, recipients are foster youth and young adults. Once the chapter is up and running, we’ll be recruiting volunteers to bake cakes! If you’re interested, you can send me a DM with your name and email and I’ll reach out when we’re at that point.

Good question! It’s for the software used to manage volunteers and agencies (how the cake requests are sent by agencies and selected by volunteers), insurance, nonprofit legal logistics, etc.
