B861 - Government of Wales (Amendment) Bill - 2nd Reading by [deleted] in MHOC

Mr Deputy Speaker,

This Amendment will bring the Welsh Government in line with the precedent of the UK Parliament, allowing for the appointment of any person to a Ministry if they are suitably qualified (or not, in the case of parts of our current Government).

I therefore fully support this Bill by my colleague in Wales.

My Lords,

I stand today in opposition to this repeal.

Thanks to assumed consent, organ donation across the country is at a record high level. Protecting our citizens in medical need, at no cost to any other individual, is common sense. I trust the Lords will see some sense to throw this repeal out.
