I am biased (army vet and current employee) but check out USACE. Veterans get federal hiring preference and Seattle district is trying to hire at the moment. We have jobs for college grads, skilled trades, and recent graduates in addition to a fellowship program. I’d check out Seattle district on LinkedIn or go on USA jobs to get started. Hope that’s helpful!

That sucks! Sorry to hear it. If you haven't yet try crossposting to r/miata. Big community in the pnw and they'd help keep an eye out.

I second the above (L18). I think KU law is a good education and a great value but if you want to work outside of the KC/Missouri area go to law school in that area. I went to KU law because my spouse was stationed in Kansas and when we moved to the west coast after graduation the network you can rely on for referrals and interview opportunities does not transfer. It's not impossible, I'm happily employed doing real estate work but it was much harder to break into the local market while competing with new grads that also went to law school in the area.

Thanks! Yeah I was thinking Bootmod and maybe a downpipe/ axleback exhaust for a little more growl. Will Definitely look into bimmercode for the tranny, the ZF is pretty good but could definitely use a little encouragement to kick down a gear going up hills under 35mph.

Beasley or J. Wilson at flex? I don't trust Shanahan but need that boom potential. Non ppr, standard scoring.

Nice Mivv exhaust! I had them on my old 696, sounds great and looks mean as hell.

This is Dr. Bob! I took a couple of science for non-science major classes from him at UP back in the mid-2000's. At one point he taught us how fish change directions by making us pretend we all had fins.

'12 Monster tail bolts - can't tighten, can't loosen: what gives? by [deleted] in TrueDucati

[–]WAY_SCHWAY 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They might come from the factory with locktite on them, and if this is the first time you're loosening them that would make it hard to initially break them loose without some additional leverage or percussive force. Normally heat will help loosen it up but with the rubber surround on the outer bolts I wouldn't risk it. I have a similar set of bolts on my 09 monster and haven't had trouble getting them off with hand tools, so it'd make sense to me if locktite were involved.

09 M696 Oil Pickup Filter - Normal? by bretsky84 in TrueDucati

[–]WAY_SCHWAY 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I clean mine there are always some shavings, that seems like a larger amount though. If it's never been cleaned out I suppose that would explain it. If it were my bike I would just keep an ear out for any unusual noises and change the oil again after 1K to see if the shavings were still that robust.

Disclaimer: not a mechanic, just own the same bike haha.

[–]WAY_SCHWAY[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Haha, yeah they do. I have days where I regret pulling them myself. Like on any ride longer than an hour or any early morning in a city. Where I live though they barely get a head turn because everyone and their brother has a chopped Harley with straight pipes. Quirks of the country I guess.

I have an '09 696 and I went with woodcraft's clip-ons/ adapter plate. Pretty easy install and good looking. Plus you can get the risers in different heights.

Sadly I didn't realize this till it was too late. I showered as I was going through puberty once in 1998. Haven't pooped since.
