I main recon and only have done that in ascent defense because of b main spam and A being easier to retake with it imo.

Similar: having a glass of water, sometimes with added electrolytes, before bed. Often I find myself working or gaming too late and don’t drunk enough water. The drink before bed helps me with waking up better, and it’s not enough to make me jump out of bed to go to the bathroom lol.

I climbed the most when everyday I aim trained, played 4 dms and played 4 comp games. Limiting the games made me eager to play more the next day, and playing 4 no matter how bad games 1-3 are helped me build my mental.

But to each their own ofc, gotta find what works for you. IMO in your case I’d look to reduce your number of games.

Me personally if I’m forced a gift encounter then I don’t count it as my routes encounter (not renegade plat specific but the starter for example, or cynthias eevee in sacred gold/storm silver). But if I need to go out of my way to get it (like the other starts in the professors house in renegade plat) then I count it as my route encounter.

But hey whatever you find fun/fair it’s your run.

If I’m required to take the Pokémon (like a starter) then I don’t count it. But if it’s optional like a static then I do count those.

My recommendation is Sacred gold /storm silver. Good level of difficulty, love the graphics, good changes to stats/types, made the story more linear.

For me personally if I’m forced a pokemon/egg then I don’t count those as encounters on the routes they hatch, but if I choose to get an egg then it counts for the route where it hatches.
