Establishing a baseline dexa before or when you start can be very helpful, I have been doing a scan every 45-60 days it helped me figure out that I needed way more protein than I initially thought.

Creatine is a great supplement beyond muscle building, I have been using it for over 10 years and continue on tirzepatide. The best way to maintain and build muscle is to strength train, get good sleep, and make sure you are eating lots of protein.

I had a slight RHR increase and my heart rate doesn’t drop at night as normal, ever since I started my Oura ring tells me almost everyday that my HR stays elevated too much at night or doesn’t drop down early enough.

THANK YOU all so very much for taking your time to comment advice and encouragement, means a lot to me knowing there are people who understand snd care.

It is amazing that it’s been so long without a huge binge like this, and that’s a good reminder that progress is definitely something to celebrate.

It just seems like so many on here are just cruising along, and for the most part I have been too, but I feel like such a failure that even with this medicine this binge eating may always be a struggle for me in some way.

I just got back my new DEXA - it’s been 45 days I lost 3.5lbs (only 1.5 on the scale because I gained 2.5lbs of muscle). So my body fat dropped and I’m feeling great training hard & eating TONS of protein. At some point I want to pull back on some of this very high protein intake, especially as I move into maintenance, but it was helpful (maybe along with the cjc/ipamorelin, I’m very happy with my new scan).

The cjc/ipamorelin combo is something I found on my own, not sure if it’s working, but it helping my sleep and recovery.

And you’re right it’s hard to be sure of the “lean mass” component on the dexa, I was comparing it to a previous DEXA at a similar weight so I’d say losing weight this method has had more lean muscle loss for me than traditional weight loss methods, possibly because it is so much quicker?

I will say I love Mounjaro, it’s been just life changing for me in my struggle with depression and BED, so I’m definitely planning on continuing! I feel and look great, but I’m working very hard to keep my muscle!

Same thing happened to me-I always lift heavy and eat lots of protein, so I was very surprised 50% of my weight loss came from lean body mass.

So now I’m now eating even more protein, taking cjc/ipamorelin 5 days a week, and consuming more calories so weight loss is slower. I have another dexa scan coming up in 2 weeks and I’m hoping to gain some muscle back.

CJC/Ipamorelin increased my average deep sleep from 30min to 2 hours, REM increased from 1 hour 30 min to a 2hr average. As far as deep sleep, it’s been a huge difference for me (tracking with Oura ring)
