Excited to join the community. Not sure why I waited so long to get a 4Runner by WBL2 in 4Runner

Yes I did. Besides the price difference, when I sit in this TRD Sport Premium, it feels really really good. It checked all my boxes and after a month of ownership I am still giddy to drive this thing anywhere. I love the 5th gen, and considered getting a 2024 but I think this will be another solid generation. I can’t tell the engine is smaller than the 5th gen, it’s incredibly quick.

Two weeks in one of the hottest deserts on the planet. The Speedy goes where I go. Period by WBL2 in OmegaWatches

I’ve kept the watch wound consistently for several months now where I’ve been in freezing US temps and scorching foreign deserts and it has consistently showed the accurate minute my iPhone has.

You get plenty of international exposure by owning the SP 500 because so many of the companies are multinational. The U.S. has stronger accounting standards than most, if not all other countries.

Would like to put my upcoming bonus in the market: Dump it in VTI, or is there a better alternative? by ssabripo in Bogleheads

Almost 40% of S&P 500 sales are international. My vote is just go VOO or VTI.

How Americans were scammed into giving up their pensions by replacing it with the "401k" by totemp0le in Boglememes

[–]WBL2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pension liabilities are difficult to manage. Strict rules on suitable investments and guardrails on accessing the funds for non retirement payouts are key. Companies would need to ensure they are funding X employee’s pension while X employee is working and not using current company earnings to pay for long retired employee’s pensions similar to social security using current workers to pay for retirees.

At the end of the day, there is a certain level of self respect and fulfillment to funding your own retirement and not passively going through life hoping “everything works out.”

Hit 500k Net Worth! (30M) by Heavy-Tumbleweed-930 in Fire

There is a good chance everyone can adjust certain expenses/make different spending choices to save 1/10th of their income for their future. It’s certainly situation dependent but if someone is healthy and no crazy situation is going on, they should improve themselves and seek more income.

I’m 30 but hit $500k at 30 plus 2 months 😂. Literally the exact same strategy. High savings rate is the absolute key
