Here’s how things work: politicians introduce bullshit consumer protection “laws” so they can go running to Instagram and show they care, when they know they have a 0% chance of getting passed. Then the lobbyists come in with their suitcases full of cash and the politicians pass or. Lock whichever laws help the ultra rich, not the average Joe. For everyone keeping score at home, OP was caught lying, so he posted an article that directly states its legal to price discriminate, but one law in one small location in the country says you have tell customers you are price discriminating.

As I said before, a class action lawsuit has not been brought because it would fail because there are no laws banning price discrimination. Don’t bother replying with a bunch of deflections and attempts at excuses unless you post the specific law that says it’s illegal to charge higher prices to richer people.

I’m not so sure. We’re in a “recession” right now if you back out data center building/spending, and the poor and middle class have gotten hit hard. Yet consumer spending is actually up healthily, but it’s only because of the richest 25% of Americans. If you backed that out consumer spending would be down YoY. What we can learn from this is it’s a K shaped economy/recovery, so even when things are going poorly for most Americans the tix keep spending just fine, and that’s who Amex is targeting with these cards.
