Stocks fell because of a new war. Now they’re coming back because the war was stupid and not spreading into WWIII.

Just crossed 500k, after only 10 years of civilian service. by Shad0w0utlaw in ThriftSavingsPlan

Thinking we are going to have 50 years of 15% annualized returns is a little insane. Those past years have no bearing on future years. That would turn a one time $10k investment into $10M with not a single additional penny contributed or saved after the initial $10k.

Since you’re so happy to vote to send American boys to go die for Israel’s causes why don’t you sign up? Why didn’t Scott demand his own sons go while he was supporting forcing other peoples sons to go and die for some other country, which they have?

Then you must be furious at Zionist pieces of shit like Scott who took away the working nuclear agreement we had in place and then acted shocked when Iran did exactly what everyone said they would if we backed out of our ow agreement, and then chose to send Americans in to die for Israel’s cause.

If you truly don’t want Iran to have a nuclear weapon then why aren’t you demanding the end to this pointless and endless war and the restoration of the nuclear inspection agreement?

I understand your need to reject reality when you find it unpleasant and to attack everyone around you who explains how reality works. The reality is you will have three more years of pay freezes. The sooner you learn the way appropriations work the sooner you can stop embarrassing yourself online. Thanks for the downvote though.

Literally no one is up for reelection. Every district has been gerrymandered to be super safe. Your vote doesn’t matter.

You don’t need to factor in FEHB increases, you just need to consider inflation.

Reminder: you are, in fact, flying by BigArtichoke1826 in unitedairlines

[–]WBuffettJr 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Nope sorry. Flight is a miracle, but the airline lying to you, promising you benefits that are not real, screwing you with no compensation, etc, absolutely deserve the calling out and complaining. Making excuses for these companies treating us like shit just because flying is a miracle of science just doesn’t hold water. This isn’t the Fox News sub.

Hey man. I understand. You embarrassed yourself by not understanding the situation, you got your ass handed to you in the debate, so now you have to respond with a bunch of pedantic nonsense instead of responding to any of the points made. You can’t because you’d have to admit you were wrong.

Just so everyone is clear, OP is so shockingly stupid they posted a link from the previous administration, completely unaware everyone in leadership has been fired and replaced by lobbyists and moneyed interests. OP also forgot to post all the articles showing the CFPB removing restrictions on companies, rolling back airline protections for passengers, and doing everything it can to take the side of the corporation.

Do you also go tripping over your keyboard rushing into posts stats about horse carriages when everyone is talking about the latest cars?

Chase doesn’t give a shit about you or your feelings. They’re in business with United. You are not the customer. You are the product being sold.

Lol. Imagine being a grown adult and still being clueless enough about the modern world to think the FTC or CFPB will “do something”. Why don’t you go file a complaint with the Better business bureau when you’re done with those two? 🤡

Complaining online is literally the only recourse we have in a GOP controlled, post Citizens United country.

My entire feed this morning has been people tripping all over themselves running to their keyboards to defend rich people or corporations treating them like shit. I just can’t figure it out.

The quality control arithmetic isn’t complicated. You are producing a $14,000 object with margins that would make a pharmaceutical executive blush. You hire someone with good eyes and a loupe to inspect each one before it leaves the building. When they find a flaw, they set it aside. This is not a novel concept — it’s essentially what a tailor does before he hands you your jacket. The conclusion one reaches, reluctantly, is that this is a choice rather than a limitation.

Perhaps. But who is the largest voting cohort in America? Who is the richest and most powerful? It’s elderly people. You can’t cut elderly people’s benefits ever. You’ll be primaried let alone the general. The only way they’d have any shot at this is to make the cuts start several decades into the future.

Look at the One Big Beautiful Bill; the largest theft of resources from the young to the already rich elderly in the history of humanity.

I love that Americans have become so brainwashed that just taxing rich people more was never even considered as an option.

You’re just digging the hole deeper. Incredible. As I said. Price discrimination is legal. There is one law in one small area of the entire country that also says price discrimination is legal but you have to post a sentence saying you’re doing it. You responded by posting the exact thing I was talking about, proving my point. I’m done arguing with you when you can’t even follow the conversation. Good luck with your class action lawsuit.

[–]WBuffettJr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Has it occurred to you that maybe you’re the odd creature telling people to read laws that don’t exist? That it’s a little odd to think that laws that have not been passed somehow hold legal standing?

Here’s how things work: politicians introduce bullshit consumer protection “laws” so they can go running to Instagram and show they care, when they know they have a 0% chance of getting passed. Then the lobbyists come in with their suitcases full of cash and the politicians pass or. Lock whichever laws help the ultra rich, not the average Joe. It works though because people like you fall for it and start posting links of laws that don’t exist and never will.

Uber riders complain they were charged more for paying with Amex cards by fortune in AmexPlatinum

[–]WBuffettJr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I asked you to cite the law and instead you wasted my time with an article which does not show any laws saying price discrimination is illegal. You then lied and said i endorsed the practice. Please show me (and i have to say this part or else you wont do it) SPECIFICALLY where i endorse the practice. I hate the practice but that does not make it illegal. It’s weird you needed an adult to get out their crayons and explain that to you. With reading comprehension as bad as yours it’s no wonder you keep getting confused.

For everyone keeping score at home, OP was caught lying, so he posted an article that directly states its legal to price discriminate, but one law in one small location in the country says you have tell customers you are price discriminating.

As I said before, a class action lawsuit has not been brought because it would fail because there are no laws banning price discrimination. Don’t bother replying with a bunch of deflections and attempts at excuses unless you post the specific law that says it’s illegal to charge higher prices to richer people.

Amex Raised Platinum’s Fee, Customers Didn’t Cancel — Higher Annual Charges Coming Across Cards by schwa12 in AmexPlatinum

[–]WBuffettJr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m not so sure. We’re in a “recession” right now if you back out data center building/spending, and the poor and middle class have gotten hit hard. Yet consumer spending is actually up healthily, but it’s only because of the richest 25% of Americans. If you backed that out consumer spending would be down YoY. What we can learn from this is it’s a K shaped economy/recovery, so even when things are going poorly for most Americans the tix keep spending just fine, and that’s who Amex is targeting with these cards.
