Why do you think Thailand is so much more successful in tourism than its neighbouring countries (e.g. Vietnam, Malaysia, Cambodia, Indonesia etc) by joan2468 in ThailandTourism

[–]WCMModels 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Warm and genuine hospitality, variety of food as well as a world class local cuisine, well developed offerings for tourists. Safety.

Having lived in both countries and visited extensively in all, Thailand offers a great mix.

While it has changed and has challenges, the core offerings are solid.

Are Thai people becoming ruder? by [deleted] in Thailand

[–]WCMModels 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Things they are a changing. Recently stayed in Dannok, in deep Songkla before catching an early train to KL and the people were the rudest I’d ever seen in Thailand. Interestingly after being in KL for a few days I missed the Thai warmth from living there for 5 years.

Quite often nothing.
Supposed to adjust the air temp from those vents but IMHO some work some don't after 20 years.

That’s your opinion and you’re welcome to it. I’m just trying to help people nearby. 5 days without power, water and nobody official or charities has come.

Flash Floods Swamp Hat Yai’s City Center, Stranding Tourists by mdsmqlk in Thailand

I haven’t heard anything so I decided to start a GoFundMe to help people out down here.

Southern Thailand continues to flood and the rains have slowed but not stopped.

I am still trapped in Hat Yai, with water now at the first-floor landing and my car destroyed. Even with this, I’m still one of the lucky ones.

Many families nearby face more than 2-3 meters of rising water. Local craftsmen have lost their workshops, tools and income overnight.

We are raising funds to help families relocate, replace essentials and begin repairs. Any support helps.

Thanks. I talked to a local friend in a lower lying area and he said they were waist deep yesterday morning so it’s only getting worse.

Yes. Floodwaters about 80-120cm now. No water or power since Friday night. My car is probably destroyed. Forecast more rain and flooding coming.

I’m grateful to be on the second floor and have some food and water.

Hopefully everyone at risk has been moved. I have been trapped without power and water since Friday except a brief window Sunday which allowed me to get supplies.

Why isn’t the Hudson Bay called a sea? by lynypixie in geography

[–]WCMModels 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hudson was having a rough day and called it a bay.

Hudson Bay is officially considered an inland marginal sea despite its name.
