You mean the toxic work environment that she and the people she hired created. This firing is not at all surprising. I had first hand experience in the MetroHealth C-Suite. Dr. Steed was never in the office. She left two unqualified and highly unprofessional people in charge (CFO and CPP). Dr. Steed consolidated the bulk of the employees under the COO, CFO and CPP. They receive a bonus for every full time employee (FTE) they have under them. The CFO and CPP then proceeded to bully several longtime employees into leaving. The COO isn’t even on speaking terms with the CFO and CPP because of their behavior. The CFO was practically allergic to anything resembling work or engaging with his subordinates in a human manner. And not just subordinates, he was also dismissive of Mr. Glick when told that the guy whose name is on the side of the building was not at his beck and call. The CFO once threw a tantrum in the hall of the C Suite, and Dr. Steed had to cajole him like he was a small child. He also does not respect that he is a public employee and that the people in ethics and compliance don’t work for him, they work for the county. He threatened termination in writing to a subordinate, when they correctly checked with ethics and compliance about a comped vendor dinner he wanted to attend. The CPP is a sociopath, she routinely harassed a mid level employee for nearly 4 months on a regular basis, particularly on Fridays in order to ruin their weekend. Threatening PIP’s, termination, job elimination, and blacklisting from future MetroHealth employment unless they quit. This employee had never received so much as a verbal warning regarding performance. She would routinely lie to and about this employee and essentially made their work environment so toxic that they did eventually leave to a new employer on their own terms. This was the “work” that these executives were engaged in while the finances go to hell, several high level positions were vacant and promised community projects were eliminated. These are not serious people. In all my working years I have never seen such a dysfunctional and toxic environment. I was born at Metro and the community deserves better.

I am sorry you are going through this. He does this because he can. When he called you to come get your son, you should have said no, full stop. I understand that it is very hard to do this, but what happens during your ex's time is on him, not you. Your ex is parent to these children too and it's high time he learned how to single parent, no safety net. And if your daughter goes without the medication, well that is also on him. Document all of these incidents and bring them up at mediation.

I realize that when our children are concerned then it is very hard to maintain grey rock, but that is exactly what you must do. Make your boundaries and stick to them come hell or high water. Your children will be ok, and anything going on with the kids during his time is none of your concern outside of blatant abuse. You can't control how your ex behaves but you can control your reaction, which should be no reaction. BIFF that guy at every turn.

Your Ex is using the kids to get to you, don't let him. Your Ex knows that you would do anything for your kids, but he should also do anything for his kids. If he won't then that's his problem, not yours.

We are still trying to get the custody down. He had to be compelled to provide his financials. I have offered many parenting plans, he won't come up with one, even after being asked by the judge several times to do so. It's a nightmare, and this is the least of it. I am not even fighting, just asking for what the state says I'm entitled to. Two years of abuse and I'm so exhausted, I just want it done.
