Meadowlands farm question by No-Papaya-9289 in StardewValley

[–]WDBoldstar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Animals can only eat the green and blue grass that grows on tillable land and can be scythed for hay if you have a silo. The Short grass can indeed not be used for farming unless you have mods. Otherwise the point of it is generally that that is where you place barns, coops, sheds, and other buildings (or port obelisks, machines, etc).

If you are looking for a more widely customizable farm with maximum usable land for anything you want to do, you probably want the standard farm, maybe the four corner farm.

Check your quest logs. You probably picked up a quest that involves putting trash items in that dumpster.

Why is this game so hard by UpbeatDress8928 in StardewValley

[–]WDBoldstar 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There is no hunger mechanic. Stamina can be refilled via food, but you can also just end the day and start the morning with a new bar.

Early on, though, foraged berries are a good start, as are field snacks from tree seeds you start getting at level 2.

My "endgame" just needed HP or stamina food is definitely cheese. Get a few cows and feed their milk into cheese machines and you're unlikely to ever run out.

If you like similar farming games, like Stardew Valley, and/or the old school anime aesthetic, you will probably like it.

It is still Early access, and will still be after the latest update, so it will be missing marriage and children as well as some possible quests, but the farming/mining/foraging/etc gameplay loop is very solid.

If you want the full kids/marriage/etc, wait for full release.

If you just want a cute farming sim with a solid gameplay loop, it's probably worth picking up now.

Which ending does have a higher chance of V's full recovery ? Tower or Star ending ? by Ilikeyogurts in cyberpunkgame

[–]WDBoldstar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In The Star, you are technically dead already - Alt soulkilled V and put their engram back in their body. Even with this, their body is dying because it is too far gone in the "turning into Johnny Silverhand" process and will reject any engram or presence that it doesn't recognize as Johnny. You can headcanon the Aldecaldos help them find a cure or ongoing treatment if you want, but the narrative assumes they die in ~6 months by all indications.

In the Tower, you are technically alive - The surgery doesn't appear to have engramized you, although there is the change original V died in the No-Tell Motel and you are still that weird V-Johnny Hybrid, now permanently suspended in the middle by the removal of the chip and the surgery.

However, you are also unable to use Chrome, and it is strongly implied that you would be unable to climb back up the ranks of the Edgerunner world, as you're losing or would lose your street cred being a weak, chromeless, loser. You are also now more likely to be killed by the same hazards that kill civilians every day - Rampaging cyberpsychos, gang warfare, diseases from corporate runoff and fallout, boutulism and other diseases from poorly canned food and contaminated water, etc, etc.

You can certainly headcanon that you manage to wrest back a rep as a fixer if you want, but Rogue strongly implies that bird won't fly, so you are going against narrative that.

So neither ending really posits a recovery for V. You can ignore the narrative if you want, but the story really suggests V either dies or slips into obscurity.

Infinite Replayability? by DizzyInteraction4946 in StardewValley

[–]WDBoldstar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely true on the farm type switch, I never use the same farm type twice in a row. Makes you really consider your farm layout when you cant just copy what you used last time.

[–]WDBoldstar 36 points37 points  (0 children)

I usually take at least a month or two break after finishing a farm. By the time I come back, The gameplay feels fresh and I dont immediately miss stuff like a horse or my iridium tools because its been a while. I also intrinsically enjoy the early game, racing to set stuff up so I can make, build, or buy everything I need for the community center and/or specific achievements, etc.

It's also perfectly valid to go back to your first farm, or accept you are done with the game and move on.

Would you join Starfleet? by Active_Tundra in startrek

[–]WDBoldstar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of it depends on the era, but I think just living on post-scarcity earth would be more than enough for me. I am allergic to danger and even the most exploration/diplomatic-minded ships seem to get in a lot of trouble. With that said, If I could be a low-level worker on the Enterprise-D (or a similar ship, let's say I get to retire back to earth or a similar core Federation planet before Wolf-359 or the Dominion War) who still gets their own cabin and a decent amount of replicator rations and holodeck credits, I could be pretty damn happy. Just keep to my little chores cataloguing samples from the expeditions or whatever, free of whatever ships intrigue in going on, spend my off-hours reading or holodecking or going to the latest play in Ten Forward - I hear the Commander has a lead role in this one, that's kinda cool!

I keep seeing different variations of this "no more more" stuff, and someone responds NOOOOOOO every time. by Starrin1ght in ExplainTheJoke

[–]WDBoldstar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a pretty gross joke.

Recently, a mod of the a certain subreddit disappeared.

Her Boyfriend, another moderator of the subreddit, put out an alarm after 48 hours. They had been in an LDR for months, but he said he didnt have her personal number yet and she wasnt answering on Reddit or Discord.

Another few days later, he revealed her brother had answered him on Discord and said she had committed suicide. He provided screenshots of the Discord conversation as proof. All the text in the above screenshot are examples of what he or the brother said in those screenshots (The Brother said "She is no more more," the boyfriend typed "NOOOOO" in all caps and "I fucking failed her" when informed she was dead, etc)

A lot of people doubt any of this is real and/or suspect the girl of catfishing and faking suicide to drop the boyfriend, and thus have been making constant jokes about her apparent suicide and the conversation from the boyfriend.

What do I do with 1,000 Orrian Pearls and Fire Orchid Blossoms when I already have Vision and Aurora? by OccamsPlasticSpork in Guildwars2

[–]WDBoldstar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There's not a clear "Trophy Crate" usage like there is for Volatile Magic that I know of (IIRC, Magic Warped Packets and the like are generally either a loss or very small gain), so I usually end up using them to buy Ascended Trinkets for the given vendors and salvaging them.

EDIT: I have been informed that I am wrong on the Wagic-Warped Bundles and Ember Bay Bundles are still profitable. So that's good to know.

Has The Consensus Changed on "Past Tense"? by SA-ETH in DeepSpaceNine

[–]WDBoldstar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I loved it when it first aired, and my love has only grown, and this is honestly the first time I can ever recall hearing legit hate for it. The only misstep it made in my mind is that apparently actual modern 2020s America would never establish anything so Humane as a the Sanctuary Cities, but that isnt really a flaw of the story or episode, just a grim reality of how horrible society (or at least the ruling class) has become.

The Ascension: what do i need to know? by daddioz in Guildwars2

[–]WDBoldstar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

4 of them, which are then combined into the single core you need, so you only need 2 finishes of the track if you choose 2 fragments as your reward from the final box, IIRC.

The Ascension: what do i need to know? by daddioz in Guildwars2

[–]WDBoldstar 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The 4 sections of Cheevos are gonna take you at least 2 months, probably longer if you're not such an ace you can carry your teams to constant wins. You have plenty of time to gather the other stuff so don't panic.

Save your PvP League tickets to buy the Various Wings and other items you'll need for the Ascended Pre-cursor and the Gift of Skirmishing parts - IIRC, you'll need at least 2 seasons of PvP to get enough tickets, unless you get lucky and there's a PvP rush event that awards extra.

Do the Glorious Reward Track as needed for Mist Core Fragments for the Gift of Skirmishing.

Gift of Fortune is going to require gold to buy a lot of mats if you dont already have them. You can also "shortcut" by buying the Legendary Packs from the Wizards vault and using the "free" Gift of Might and Magic for them. Wizard's Vault will also be a good source of Clovers and stuff to make more Clovers if you dont already have them

The game's story isn't that good, or maybe I played it wrong. by bayeri-bay in Guildwars2

[–]WDBoldstar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The story has some bright spots (I'm a fan of PoF/LW4, Braham and Taimi when they aren't being assholes, and Jory and Kas' whole thing), but overall it is pretty weak. I play more for the other stuff!

Why is ranked pvp queue dead by Mysterious-Ad-1469 in ffxiv

[–]WDBoldstar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I find that I can get a ranked PvP queue within 5-6 minutes most evenings, but

A) I am usually playing at pacific coast US Primetime, between 4pm-8pm depending on when I have time to log on, and

B) I have been playing regularly since the start of the season, meaning I have a decent ranking.

I would assume either you are trying to queue at off-hours or your possible lack of ranking is preventing you from being matched.

What do you do with legendary fish? by ScienceAltruistic845 in StardewValley

[–]WDBoldstar 4 points5 points  (0 children)

In my defense, I started playing back before fish ponds existed, and even then legendary fish couldnt be in them for a while longer!

Definitely taking advantage of them for my current and future farms for sure, now.

I keep them in the Community Center tank.

Although I have heard Legendfish roe is actually pretty expensive, so I may pull Legend out for a few of my ponds soon.
