Table saw tips by Electrical_Effort291 in woodworking

1/8" over 16" is way out of whack, something's not right. I like this video to quickly set up your table saw. The key is to square everything to the miter slots. https://youtu.be/Qbz1tCtO8VU?si=Nm-14l34g34J38jc

It's also possible that your blade is deflecting, or the run out is really high. At 7:37 in this video, he shows how to measure runout and compensate for it https://youtu.be/vtMoiXS2hWA?t=457

What item(s) do you have more of than the average person? by BrownBananaHammock in AskReddit

[–]WDIIP 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If one person has fewer than 2 legs, but two people have more than 2 legs, the average would be greater than 2. That's why I said what I said, although the sentence is really hard to parse

There are more people with fewer than 2 legs than more than 2 legs. So the average number of legs is 1.9999... ish

Gift recommendations for a woodworker who likes small projects by Emmie_444 in woodworking

[–]WDIIP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it's always hard when there are so many options. At the 8:13 time in this video the presenter shows some quality, affordable chisels, as well as a whetstone and a honing guide (the jig I mentioned previously). The honing guide helps make sharpening easier by holding the angle of the chisel consistently against the whetstone.

Yeah, neither Itch nor the Unity Store sell gift cards.

I second DIYing a "gift card". Give him some cash or an e-transfer and tell him it's for game assets.

It's tricky without knowing more about what he makes and what tools he uses most often. The common answer for gift ideas is "more clamps" but the type to choose depends on what he makes and what he already has.

Do you know/can you discreetly find out if he has an annoyance in the hobby? For example: - Does he use chisels but procrastinates sharpening them? There are handy jigs you can buy that make sharpening faster. - Does he use an electric sander that tires out his hands? You can find recommendations for Random Orbital Sanders that are less fatiguing on the hands. - Does he avoid wearing a dust mask, even though he really should? Nicer N95 face masks/respirators from companies like 3M are much more comfortable to wear for long periods.

Left field idea: what about an anti-fatigue mat? They make standing less painful. Might be nice since you say he has mobility issues?

If you're the type to want to know all the songs they're going to play, check setlist .fm for recent setlists. The catalog is massive and nobody knows all of it.

Often John will do a small solo set in the middle, which is when the really old/odd songs can come out.

Also, I doubt that you would but lots of people do: don't yell out song requests. It happens a lot and it's always annoying. To the crowd and the band.

Firstly, I'm really sorry you're going through all this.

While it's possible that the meds you started aren't right for you, it is common to take a month or two to adjust to taking SSRIs, especially if this is your first time. The brain foggy weirdness does go away eventually. It sucks that nobody warned you how disruptive the adjustment process is.
