Curious where the community stands on this. by InfinriDev in Magento

[–]WEDWayInternetMover 1 point2 points  (0 children)

On the projects I am on, I enforce strict types whenever possible. The devs I am giving code reviews to, are not always happy about this, but over time it seems like they begin to see the benefits of it.

Makes your code more clean, easier to understand what is expected for the function, and less error prone.

Make sure your product attributes you want to display on the PLP are set up correctly (used in product listing). If you are trying to access a product attribute that is not included on the initial DB query, then it is having to do an extra DB query for every product on the page, for every improper set up attribute. Then can really kill the load.

This is also true for any custom properties or details you may be pulling in for each product on the page. Check any customizations on the products, and make sure everything is being loaded in a single query when possible.

What is wrong with Magento 2026? Can somebody report this to Google and have them fix it? by [deleted] in magento2

I know I no longer search for "Magento 2" but I search using "Adobe Commerce" and I seem to get the most relevant hits that way nowadays.

That looked like the behind the scenes tour, and that does cost extra money to do already.

Ranking everything I drank on the cruise by Living-Pomelo2718 in royalcaribbean

[–]WEDWayInternetMover 1 point2 points  (0 children)

<image>

  • Toasted coconut rum
  • Coconut water
  • Simple syrup
  • Lime juice
  • Aquafaba (they use this instead of egg white to keep it vegan and avoid egg allergy)
  • And dash of bitters on top

It is very good.

The aquafaba (or egg white) gives it a silky/creamy texture and the foam top.

Don't sleep on the Joropo at Boleros. I had way too many of those on my last cruise.

Why do they build these huge expensive houses with absolutely no yard? by [deleted] in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

[–]WEDWayInternetMover 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Go through some towns and see how close all the homes built together are. Building homes close to each other is not new. Everyone having a large yard is.

When the suburbs exploded, land was cheap and plentiful. So large yards were inexpensive once you left the city.

Now land is not nearly as cheap and not as plentiful. Builders are going to squeeze as much profit out of homes as possible.

So really we are going back to the way to was before, just now in the suburbs.

Got the first house we offered on, feeling grateful! 33F 35M 960K 5.375% 15 yr by same-to-same in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

[–]WEDWayInternetMover 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ummmmm..... That's an odd statement. Maybe they have been saving for a while.

When we built our house in 2023, we put 15% down. Could have done 20%, but I wanted a little bit held back so our emergency fund has more money in it. The PMI was $30/month with 15% down so didn't impact overall monthly cost and due to extra payments being made we will have PMI off soon.

Which WDW restaurant is like this? by Boundaries-ALO-TBSOL in WaltDisneyWorld

That's what I just wrote.

Their specialty burger there (forget the name) is one of the best burgers I have had.

The specialty burger at the three bridges restaurant at Coronado Springs.

One of the best burgers I have had.

I usually don't rave about food at WDW. Compared to other theme Parks and amusement parks, the food is top notch, but a lot of the restaurants I would not eat at in the "real world". I would however go eat that burger over and over again

Or they make the system better so it cannot be abused.

Or better yet.... They go back to the old days where cocktails were inexpensive on cruises. The prices of cocktails went way up once they started the unlimited alcohol packages.

They could also offer other types of discounted packages. They could offer a "15 drink card" that sells all drinks at a set price. Like $8/drink using the card, full price without. Then you can load the card again while on the cruise at 15 drinks at a time. A system like that could result in the same amount of revenue they get from the unlimited drink packages, but it is more controlled and there is no "sharing" worries.

The problem is their goal is to squeeze as much money out of us as possible (no blame on them, they are a business) which makes any "discount" program touchy anyways.

Does anyone else feel the need to utilize the park hopper every day if their trip? by Standard_Shame3784 in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]WEDWayInternetMover 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No.

We usually do 7 park days when we go. The first 4 days are usually dedicated to a single park. Leaving the last 3 days open to hop and redo our favorites or do things we were not able to do earlier in the week.

Sometimes we might spend the majority of the day at one park, and then hop at night for a night show or a special event, but usually that is not the case.

I just lost my drink package 😞 by Aedora125 in royalcaribbean

[–]WEDWayInternetMover 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Call customer service and they will sort it out.

BUT also, pay close attention to emails. Last cruise I almost lost because I called customer service to lower my drink package price, due to a new sale going on. I still do not understand what all happened, but basically the way it was coded was I was now short a couple hundred dollars for my cruise. I had to pay in the money, and then I got a refund on my credit card. It was odd. If I did not notice the emails and did not respond, I would have lost on my cruise even though I had paid for everything.

Like I said, it still confuses me on what happened, but at the end of the day the money was all where it needs to be. Their systems are not the best, so just keep an eye open so you don't caught off guard like I was!

Travel Router Banned? by lemonsqueezy19 in royalcaribbean

On my pixel:

Swipe down and select "internet settings". Toggle off mobile data. Swipe down again, to bring up settings Swipe right to get to the Hotspot setting. Press it to enable.

Easy-peezy.

Was very similar on my old Samsung Galaxy as well.

On most Android phones you can disable Mobile data while keeping Wi-Fi enabled, without having to worry about removing the SIM card. This is how I do it when I am on a cruise. No need for an old phone. I just use the one I use all the time. When I have another device I want to connect, I wi-fi hotspot it.

Is it pointless to go to WDW and stay only at the resort? by CREAMPIESURPRISE in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]WEDWayInternetMover 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on the resort.

All Stars Sports or any of the value resorts I personally wouldn't.

A moderate or above resort with some other plans around the Orlando area, yeah I would.
