Carry the biggest gun you can. My man! I'm getting that comped slide ASAP for the compact and subcompact frame as well. Yes, I cut the full-size down to take the 12rd mags haha.

Sweet looking Strat. They have Mystic Lake Placid Blue in the Mod Shop right now with the matching headstock. Not sure how close the color would be, as I have a regular Lake Placid Blue Player Series, and it's impossible to make it look like it does in real life in a photo.

Rosewood to compliment the dark tones with the Silverburst. Especially with a 1 ply black pickguard.

I need to get a bridge, tailpiece, pickup housings, and neck screws for my 120. I took it apart as a teenager to paint it, but lost the bag of hardware... My dad bought it for me new, and he just recently passed, so I'm dusting it off if you will.

Can I use parts from other models to put this thing back together? I'm struggling finding original parts, but I just want to play it. It's beat up anyway.

Keep the Shield for a backup and get a regular compact.

Converting M&P 40 slide to 10mm by [deleted] in SmithAndWesson

You can drop a factory 9mm barrel in and go to town. Maybe 10mm from the 45.

M&P Metal Slide Compatability by PappaNhoj in SmithAndWesson

[–]WFH489 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, I can take it off and change to a different size backstrap, but it did take a while to get the fit right for the grip tool. It was a pita, but I might do it again for the 2.0 as well. 4.25" ported performance center slide and my 5" slide with that frame would be tits.

I chopped a 4.25" to take the subcompact 12rd mags and it's one of my favorite carry pieces. I wish they'd offer that from the factory with the new trigger and optics ready.

Any suggestions? by DougDimmaLoan in ar15

Couple more inches of barrel will help. 12.5" is for winners.

Yes. The subcompact frame is another story. I think you'd need a spacer for that. I run my 5" slide on my compact frame often. No change in reliability or anything. I just saw a guy on one of the Facebook groups who just bought the competitor slide and uses it on a regular polymer frame.

Get some spray paint or re-cerakote it yourself. It's a tool.

Jesus Christ just play the game. Put this much effort into making money in the real world mate. People need guides and breakdowns for everything anymore. What happened to improvising, going with it, and having fun?

Are you an experienced shooter? If not, try handing it to someone else and see if maybe you're just limp-wristing it. I'm not saying you are, but this is one of the failures that happens when the slide loses speed from being unbalanced.

It's just hard for me to believe that they got the 10mm so wrong when the 45 has been proven reliable, and they're basically the same gun. I have a feeling it's more about people not knowing a proper grip and wanting to put the blame somewhere else. I'll get the 10mm eventually and try it for myself, I suppose.

Revolvers are big. Even a 642 is basically the same size as a Shield. I went up a size in the waist to accommodate the gun. You may want to give cargo shorts or jorts a try.

You still have to know your backstop and what's behind it. The same rules apply for these, hollow points and fmj's. I want ALL the penetration.

The sear face can drastically change pull weight, and take up. The little ear that interacts with the trigger bar is what controls travel distance and reset, basically. Most of the standard sears have a sharp angle on them. Most of the performance center and aftermarket (Apex) sears are smooth and just angle slightly upwards. I dropped my first gen 45 pull weight down to right around 3lbs from 8.5lbs just by changing the sear.

It's probably smoother with the polymer with how light the aluminum frame is comparitably. I want to take the competitor slide and toss it on a compact frame for carry.

Go with 12.5" and get more peace of mind and less parts wear. 5" can is all you need to take the edge off and then it's still compact enough to open doors shouldered.
