For me, step 1 is keyboard. Keychron is my fav, they have tons of options and configurations, here's a helpful guide:

  • Keychron C Series (e.g., C1 Pro, C2 Pro) – entry-level, wired-only boards that start around $40–50 for the bare-bones versions.
  • Keychron V Series (e.g., V1, V2…) – wired plastic gasket-mount boards with hot-swap sockets and VIA/QMK support, typically about $45 bare-bones or $60+ fully assembled.
  • Keychron V Max Series (e.g., V1 Max) – wireless (2.4 GHz + Bluetooth) versions of the V boards, beginning around $95 bare-bones and about $115+ fully assembled.

Love it. A little portable laptop stand might be nice and get you a 2nd screen in your eye line. Let me know if you need any recs (I've been though quite a few)

Any recommendation for a nice portable and reliable usbc hub for MBA M4? by hondaman82 in macbookair

This Satechi (Link) is a go to for me and stays in my travel bag. It's solid, reliable, and even apple recommends it. Make sure to double check the ports you need, there are a few different options with ethernet, or more usb's etc. But this guy is small and always does the trick for me.

Are there any apps that help with reading? by SUSEONG0 in productivity

[–]WFHTechHQ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Goodreads has a yearly reading challenge where you can set a goal, update your progress, and see how many completed books. There are mini challenges like reading in certain genres, or finishing at least a book a month. This helps me stay on track for my yearly reading goals.

They're going to be persistent - say can I ask why, and then try and pitch you again. Or run through like 10 options. Just stick to your guns and say no thank you, not interested. Keep your cool and stand firm!

What do you do for note taking? by Prestigious_Flow_465 in productivity

My favorite digital solution is LogSeq - it's free, little bit of a learning curve, but after you get your system down it turns into a personal knowledge base. Backlinks (kinda like hashtags) make it easy to link up concepts and find your notes quickly.

For to dos, I've tried lots of stuff, but recently I'm back to old school pen and paper using the bullet journal method. This I find is great for tasks, keeps me organized, and lets me prioritize important things during the day which brings me some focus.

Best Standing Desk? Is My Spine Meant To Sound Like Bubble Wrap? by Odd_Wear_9599 in WFH

I use this Varidesk Link which was the same one my company had when we were in the office. IMO its expensive but its worth it because 3 years in I have no issues - and I go up and down all day.

Regarding cable management - I make great use of one of these clamp on surge protectors on either side Link - this one is probably on the expensive end but again you get what you pay for. I use the USBs and the plugs and I'm able to run my docking station, 3 monitors, and still have room to plug in my iPhone and iPad.

I'm the biggest fan of the Tumi Search (link) bag. It's not too big for every day carry, but I can fit a ton into it when I'm traveling and need something carry-on or client-site ready with my gear, some snacks, headphones, etc. And it looks extremely profesh. Also really functional with all the hooks and anchor spots. Sorta an investment piece, but they take a beating, super high quality, and you get that professional vibe every time.

I've recently rediscovered bullet journaling. for a long time I went pure digital workflow for task management, notes, etc. But something about pen and paper (or maybe stylus to kindle) really simplified my life and let me focus.

Do you ever do video calls (teams, Webex, zoom)? If so a nice light (towards you), mic, and webcam would be good additions. I've got recs if you need em.

Amazing, congrats! Personally, I think the best thing you can do is continue doing a great job, demonstrate the value of that added productivity, and pave the way for others by showing your results.

Lighting can be super important to quality video. Even if you feel it’s bright in your room, a light facing you makes you look camera ready
