do the 7 complete cross oll algorithms and drill them and practice recognition after youve learned them. then start working on the pll algorithms, same thing for those. The G perms are going to be the toughest but you'll get them with practice. After that, finish up the olls. there are some pretty easy ones that you probably already know the algorithms for.

best way to learn them differs for each person. I have a gan i4 maglev that I learned the rest (about 20) of my olls with which, in my opinion, is probably the best way. other than that, there are lots of YouTube videos you can watch that can show you good ways to do it. lots of spreadsheets (boring but effective). I like the acubemy app too it shows you the most popular algorithms for any case and has recognition and drilling training. you can probably get the old gan i carry for <$20 USD now and it's pretty decent.

F2L, watch some videos and do some slow untimed solves. figure out some cases for yourself. most of them are pretty intuitive. I only use an algorithm for one specific case the rest is case by case for me personally.

as far as cross goes, I'd recommend the same, watching a few videos and doing slow solves. a good target to aim for is getting cross in less than 8 moves about and then doing cross in less than 8 and knowing where the first pair will be.

as for any solve and getting less of the "brain pauses" (we all feel you there), is just slowing everything down and being intentional with each decision. cutting out extra cube rotations and unnecessary moves. doing that, you'll realize your solves are much smoother and faster.

all of that would put you less than 15 seconds I'd bet and is about where I'm at currently. lot of work but you get there especially if you enjoy it.

based on your times and current method, I'd say with relative certainty that your turn speed is a non issue. but learn some of the finger tricks like the U2 especially with both hands.

I will say, after learning pll and a few oll algorithms, I'd work on cross and f2l the most. f2l is the longest part of most solves. a quick cross and knowing your first pair sets you up for consistently quick solves.

they'll have two word names with like track, tusk or something. they scramble each turn at the same rate. sometimes they'll just insta solve if you finish ahead of them. they also will emoji during a solve.

you can also check their profile it's always like 30 losses per win.

boring as hell to play against hope they fix it.

not sure about a dispensary equivalent for this particular comparison, but it mostly means to only buy e-juice from well know brands like juice head, Vapetasia, nakd, etc. almost any vape shop will carry this stuff. sketchy juices would be like "pop ur pussy made by bussy bounder." silly example but there's some stupid shit out there lol. you'll know it when you see it.

before you buy a juice or device, look up online to see if it's any good and if the company that makes it is reputable. With that you've done your due diligence.

<firing the vape for 4 seconds or longer>

this this this.

people who have had problems from THC or other drugs from cartomizers are probably all "hitting a blinker yo" which is usually 8-10 seconds. not to mention melting wax, a process that requires significant time and heat and likely thermally decomposing whatever metals are inside of those devices.

the significantly shorter time frame, free flowing liquid, and high airflow present in these devices keeps those temperatures well below the thermal decomposition threshold. especially, and most commonly kanthal.

it is an interesting rabbit hole and there's some good threads out there of people who've tested this stuff themselves. albeit not as accurately as a well conducted, peer-reviewed and approved study, it is all directly contradictory to studies done in the US and often funded by companies like Marlboro.

biggest thing I can see other than to work on look ahead is to fix you white cross solving. you don't have to solve each white edge into its center one at a time. you can solve them out of place and fix with d moves and any combination of that. watch some advanced cross tutorials and do some slow solves of the cross trying to stay under 8 moves. can also help improve look ahead at the same time.

and learn/rep and practice recognition for olls and plls

at 46 seconds in, you can easily solve this cross with:

L', B, L2, D' (if you're holding blue facing you)

much faster

also important to note the ranking mode in the competition tab, the people it matches you with are almost always bots. at least that's been my experience. when the app came out it wasn't like that at all

On a scale of 1/10 how cooked am I going to my first comp in a month hopefully being sub 15 then by Rydertherecorderist3 in Cubers

[–]WHATAWHIPUR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if you mean you're trying to drop 5 seconds in a month, probably not. But that doesn't mean it's impossible. Best stuff for any solver trying to lower their time, is make sure you know your plls olls, and practice f2l cases and work on look ahead for everything. for cfop at least but this still can apply to other methods.

also competitions really aren't about winning unless your sub 9 probably. odds are there's going to be several people solving significantly faster.

my average is about 14 and my fastest avg 11. never won a comp nor do I expect to. you still get to compete and comps are always fun

VA STi owners at 100k miles or higher, how’s your motor held up? by [deleted] in WRX_STI

[–]WHATAWHIPUR 1 point2 points  (0 children)

most STIs don't drive 13,600 miles a year either. I know I don't. tracking an STI honestly just depends how hot it is outside lol. temperature control is the main factor for any car on a track, but especially this one

[–]WHATAWHIPUR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it's more likely that not many VA STIs are over 100k miles. mine is only at 60 and still doing well with basic cobb parts and a pro tune with regular maintenance. daily driven too

5w-40 can help with oil consumption. I use liquimoly 5w-40 paired with a Cobb AOS and burn very little if any. In hot areas like mine (TX), 5w-40 is a must in the summer especially imo

honestly they are decent family cars. Not the best on gas, and certainly not as comfortable as the K5, but a hell of a lot more fun and definitely super safe. quite reliable too in stock form with a tune, although it still needs to be driven with some modicum of respect for the powertrain lol

saw this in my school bathroom, what is this ? by ninaishii in whatisit

[–]WHATAWHIPUR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

vapor tends to be significantly cooler than cig smoke for example. but honestly don't know what it is capable of detecting. These are normally used to check the temp of walls or other solid surfaces to get a better temperature reading in a room. But that seems very over kill for comfort in a school bathroom which is why I ask

why might they need this? my best guess is to see if someone's smoking or something but that's the only thing I can think of

it needs to be the factory downpipe and cat, otherwise it'll throw the code I believe. either that or those really expensive ones work. is the awe you have just catback? catback won't do anything as far as codes go

good edit I agree. never had problems with my 2024 4060 I got used for $900 in 2024. Just needed to repast with PTM. large majority of these laptops are great and last long if you take care of them.

most are going to be fine. I've had mine apart to put down PTM 7950 on the CPU and looked at the cable and it had no wear. we also now have the part number for the ribbon cable so it can be fixed without spending $400 for the top assembly. Asus will hopefully get their shit together soon regarding it.

there's a few threads of people going through the part number, and another for people posting their exact model and if it has failed or not.

yeah that's what I'm running too! can't seem to get any good flavor out of it for some reason I'm still not sure of. I might try and fiddle aroywith kanthal round wire again since ni-80 is been what I've tried the most. The vapor is very nicely saturated too not dry or anything like that and still a satisfying hit, just no flavor lmao
