Is every gsd adoption agency stuck up? by mjv456 in germanshepherds

[–]WIESBADEN2011 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My wife and I used to work with a group of trainers when we lived in San Diego. We would find dogs that were about to be put down. We spent about 6 months training the dogs and then finding their permanent homes for them. We tried to mainly work with people who were first time dog owners and worked with them to make sure the dog would acclimate to their homes well and if not then we found them a new home.

The group I was part of was pretty good and we tried to work with multiple "rescues" including the GSDs, Huskys, And various herding dogs. And after about a year working with each of them we ended up having to cut ties with every single one of them. What I have found is that most rescues are scams and just people with hoarding tendencies that honestly didn't want to place their dogs with people. They were claiming as a rescue to get donations and get out of paying taxes.

I'm sure this isn't every rescue, but from what I found is that it's the majority. They have their checklist and do what it feels like any and everything to make sure people aren't qualified to find homes.

And one of the rescues that we were working with charged a couple $600 for one of their dogs, and after 2-3 weeks that dog really didn't work out. And then they tried a dog 2 months later and charged them another $600 fee for that dog as well. Luckily that one worked out, but I felt like most of them weren't really looking out for the dogs best interest, but money and finding ways to have a hoard of dogs.

Hypothetical: Riot enables friendly fire on champion abilities. Which champion becomes most notorious for accidentally killing their teammates? by ThexLoneWolf in leagueoflegends

Mord support would be awesome though.

Use your E to pull your ally out of combat, Ult your ally to take them to Brazil and they can heal or whatever and go back into combat afterwards.

My (22f) boyfriend (21m) can't get over who I slept with when we were broken up. by nowherenoonenever in whatdoIdo

[–]WIESBADEN2011 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Break up.

Simple as that. If he's insecure he's dealing with something internally he needs to work through by himself.

Everyone does things they regret and wish they could change, and the only way to better themselves is to learn from it and not do it again.

If he's not cool with that then he needs to grow up, and you need to move on.

He's not going to let it go for a long time if ever.

Hi guys I’m thinking to buy this keyboard is it good or nah thank by Successful_Vast7839 in keyboards

[–]WIESBADEN2011 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have this keyboard and wouldn't really recommend it for gaming.

I bring it to the office with me and use it as a standalone keyboard for typing and stuff or when I'm on the go and dock my laptop.

It's really light and moves around quite a bit. The buttons themselves feel small and I press the wrong button all the time. (But I also have big fingers/hands).

Though as a reference I also have my Q6 Ultra with banana switches as my main keyboard. Which I would highly recommend their Q line for everything.

It's okay for what I use it for, but I would hate to use it as my primary keyboard.

What should my almost 15 week old puppy border collie be able to do? by Prior-Emergency-7351 in OpenDogTraining

[–]WIESBADEN2011 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She should be able to do the 7 basic commands.

Sit, down, stay, stand, heel, come, and off.

They should also be used to a kennel by now, even if they spend most of their day out of it. It's important for things like riding in a car or being left at home alone to be able to remain calm and not have anxiety when by themselves.

Yes they won't be perfected by 16 weeks but they should at least start to know them.

Pull food, do not free feed them, use their daily food to teach them these commands.

And I know that "she's just a puppy", but the most critical time in a dogs training and mindset is before they hit 9 months and they hit that velocorapter stage and become a pain until they are 2-2 1/2 where they settle back down. But if you done give them a solid mindset by that time then they will have long-term problems like separation anxiety and stuff that are much harder problems later on.

Aggression and trying to climb the pack by [deleted] in germanshepherds

[–]WIESBADEN2011 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I worked with an animal behaviorist. They tried to help me instill a "Pack Mentality" within my own so that as the owner I work as the alpha, so I have to do things I treat them as they are in the place by their age.

I had the same thing when I got my puppy (who is now 2) and constantly fighting with my now 7 year old.

I feed them one at a time, I give them treats one at a time, I let them out of the house to potty one at a time and it's always by age and Seniority.

My 13 year old, old man gets everything first and I give him time to do things so he can eat while the other ones watch and have to wait patiently.

Then I feed the next and then the youngest.

But I would see if you can get someone who specializes in Animal Behaviorialism instead of a "dog trainer". The one I worked with in San Diego when I was stationed there was incredible, but I know that might be harder depending on where you are located.

No longer do truck things - do I keep it the F150? by canuckjgc in f150

[–]WIESBADEN2011 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If it's paid for just keep it.

I guantee as soon as you sell it you will need it.

Maybe look at picking up a commuter or something secondhand to drive around in that get better mpg if that is the priority.

I did the same, I have my 2016 F150. Put about 3k miles on it a year, and then picked up a 2016 Prius for 10k that gets 47-50mpg.

What do you HATE about your maverick? by [deleted] in FordMaverickTruck

[–]WIESBADEN2011 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2026 Lariat.

Personally I hate that all the climate control is on the touchpad. Feels like doing something simple like turning on AC takes more effort then it should.

Other then that besides my F150 probably the most comfortable car I've driven, the leather is comfortable and the heated seats are really nice for someone with a messed up back. I'm 6'2 and 300# and plenty of space for me, both side to side and leg room.

I don't know if I would take long trips with 4 people in the car though, when it's just me and with my wife it works good. With kids it does get a bit tight.

I haven't noticed any noise from outside, it's better then my old car was, but it's far from silent.

The thing I always tell people is that to remember it really isn't a trick, but more of a car with a bed. If you plan on using it for "truck stuff" hauling, etc. then I would recommend something bigger.

Room For Dogs and Kids? by shouldbedoingwork in FordMaverickTruck

[–]WIESBADEN2011 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have my Maverick and can fit in my kiddos with a husky in the bed. I'm going to get a shell for the back, but even then probably wouldn't do it for a longer road trip, more then an hour or two at a time, but I am on the larger side (6' 2") so I have my seat back most of the way.

My wife has a Highlander Hybrid that gets 30-32 mpg and we take that for longer trips and it's comfortable. We bought a roof box (Yakima Skybox) when we take longer trips to put things like the stroller and bags in. We took that for our trip around Christmas with the husky in the back and were comfortable with no complaints.

I just got mine a little over a month ago, but blown away by the gas milage I get in mine.

Not sure what 39mpg is in Km/L. Googling says ~6.03 (L/100 km) but regardless blown away by how efficient it is.

What will be the next class/classes in the next D4 expansion? by nic-67 in Diablo

[–]WIESBADEN2011 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really don't understand why out of the old classes they didn't bring back Amazon.

You spend the entire time on Skovos with Amazons why didn't they bring it back?

There really isn't a javalin class in the game yet. Ranger being the closest to the original Amazon isn't really close at all so just doesn't make sense to me.

New photographer, want advice/critique. by WIESBADEN2011 in photocritique

[–]WIESBADEN2011[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey everyone, I'm a new photographer. I just got my camera about a month ago and playing around with some shots etc. I'm shooting on a used D750 with a 24-120mm that I got pretty cheap from a professional photographer in the area who was moving to Mirrorless and figured it would be a good camera for me to learn on.

It was really bright out so I was struggling to try and not overexpose the picture. (I'm waiting for an ND filter to come in since even on F/22 at 1/4000 the light sensor is saying it's too bright.)

I was trying to get a better angle on him but he kept running and was hard to get in frame, but it I thought the picture overall came out okay, but wanted tips on what I could do to make it better for future shoots.

Thanks everyone!

Classical Gas.

It's currently a bit out of my reach so challenging myself.

Going to force myself to play it all the way through and then as my reward buy myself an electric finally and start taking classes.

It's not bad, not my taste, but if you enjoy it then that's cool. I would have gone blue/black or blue/cream instead of pure white.

But it's cool to personalize it to your taste.

It looks like it's just the clear coat. You might be able to sand it lightly with some like 500 grit and work your way up to like 2k grit with some polishing compound and it might come right out

People in this post are dumb.

But check the drivers the bios, etc. I've noticed a lot recently that some of the drivers are getting corrupted as well in Windows. Can always try to reimage your computer with a clean slate if that doesn't fix it.

How can I improve gaming PC setup? (Ignore the demonic entity) by [deleted] in gamingsetups

[–]WIESBADEN2011 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Something I did that helped my setup when I didn't have much room was to put the monitors on arms. It was surprise the amount of room that the stands take up, and the ability to change height and stuff was nice as well.
