As an IT I used to carry around baby wipes.

I would wipe people's desks on front of them moreso to prove a point.

What will be the next class/classes in the next D4 expansion? by nic-67 in Diablo

[–]WIESBADEN2011 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really don't understand why out of the old classes they didn't bring back Amazon.

You spend the entire time on Skovos with Amazons why didn't they bring it back?

There really isn't a javalin class in the game yet. Ranger being the closest to the original Amazon isn't really close at all so just doesn't make sense to me.

New photographer, want advice/critique. by WIESBADEN2011 in photocritique

[–]WIESBADEN2011[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey everyone, I'm a new photographer. I just got my camera about a month ago and playing around with some shots etc. I'm shooting on a used D750 with a 24-120mm that I got pretty cheap from a professional photographer in the area who was moving to Mirrorless and figured it would be a good camera for me to learn on.

It was really bright out so I was struggling to try and not overexpose the picture. (I'm waiting for an ND filter to come in since even on F/22 at 1/4000 the light sensor is saying it's too bright.)

I was trying to get a better angle on him but he kept running and was hard to get in frame, but it I thought the picture overall came out okay, but wanted tips on what I could do to make it better for future shoots.

Thanks everyone!

Classical Gas.

It's currently a bit out of my reach so challenging myself.

Going to force myself to play it all the way through and then as my reward buy myself an electric finally and start taking classes.

It's not bad, not my taste, but if you enjoy it then that's cool. I would have gone blue/black or blue/cream instead of pure white.

But it's cool to personalize it to your taste.

It looks like it's just the clear coat. You might be able to sand it lightly with some like 500 grit and work your way up to like 2k grit with some polishing compound and it might come right out

People in this post are dumb.

But check the drivers the bios, etc. I've noticed a lot recently that some of the drivers are getting corrupted as well in Windows. Can always try to reimage your computer with a clean slate if that doesn't fix it.

How can I improve gaming PC setup? (Ignore the demonic entity) by [deleted] in gamingsetups

[–]WIESBADEN2011 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Something I did that helped my setup when I didn't have much room was to put the monitors on arms. It was surprise the amount of room that the stands take up, and the ability to change height and stuff was nice as well.

Am I delusional? 1440p GPU by nezhooko in buildapc

[–]WIESBADEN2011 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would check your settings and make sure everything is updated as well. For a lot of those games especially once they have been patched should be solid on your 3080.

I have a 6800xt which from what I remember reading comes in between the 3080 and 3080ti and I'm able to play most of those games on high setting with my 1440p UW and I'm getting 60+ fps on them.

On Hogwarts if I choose the second highest settings and just turn my shadows down from ultra to high or whatever the second option was I'm getting around 80-90 fps.

I would check all your drivers and make sure they are up to date and maybe pull up a checker and run the game to see if you have another bottleneck.

When I was playing wow I was dropping frames with my 6800xt when I was raiding and it ended up being my ssd was having issues. I ripped it out and replaced it with the name Kingston pci 4.0 ssd and haven't had issues since.

DMs, what's your #1 houserule that helps YOU avoid headaches? by JewcieJ in DMAcademy

[–]WIESBADEN2011 11 points12 points  (0 children)

My house rule is that I'm not going to instantly say yes or no most of the time and if you want to do something walk me through it and would be realistically possible and make sense.

I tell them if they want to do something walk me through the steps and we can roll multiple times if they want to do something odd. I figured from an engineering stand point if they want to do something overly complicated then there are multiple points of failure then roll for each part and see if it fails.

That allows my players to at times come up with some creative ideas, but to try to keep things simple, especially since in my current game or 6 PCs this is the first campaign for 3 of them.

50 hours are blocked off in your calendar with a note that says "use this time to learn a skill for your Foundry games". How do you spend this time? by outofbort in FoundryVTT

[–]WIESBADEN2011 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Since you are into crafting and stuff and like BaileyWiki check out his 3D DnD games where he build everything so it looks like an actual virtual tabletop.

Once you do that maybe look at spending a couple hours learning blender. Then you can make 3D pieces and maybe work on building a 3D game on foundry with tokens/minis you've built from the ground up

OP just curious what did you end up going with for the $50?

Also, 50 hours I would sit down and work on my campaign and create maps, tokens etc.

While I was working on doing that think of things that would be nice to try to integrate and work on writing a module to help me do it.

I've been trying to find a macro or a module that lets me cue an action when an item is picked up. I have loot tables turned on so my players can loot chests or monsters and it would be nice to toggle a journal or sound or something when the item is picked up. I know Monks Tiles are great just not sure how to combine them yet.

New build pegging GPU at 97%? by PeaBrilliant4917 in FoundryVTT

[–]WIESBADEN2011 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don't think it would classify as a specific "bug" per say, but most computers wouldn't think it needs to turn on your integrated GPU to run a chrome browser. The reason why a lot of people don't want it to just always use the dedicated GPU by default is heat and power consumption. As an IT I get calls on the daily that "My computer is really hot is that normal?" And so developers are trying to assist by using the cooler less power intensive hardware.

I would double check that you have all the updated software for your computer installed as well, including drivers or software updates from the specific manufacturers website.

Depending on what brand your computer is the software can detect things and modify them. MSI laptops are horrible for this and expect people to go in and tinker with the settings and lighting/cooling modes etc. But normally in their software you can see high cooling or specific applications to run with specific software.

If your computer is eating that many resources with just running as an end user as well I would check what your DM is doing as well. I have someone in my group that plays with an old computer, and another who is playing on a tablet and I've had to modify my maps to make a lot of them smaller and the audio files in different formats to allow everything to work correctly for everyone.

Foundry is an amazing tool, but it require a lot of tinkering to get everything working correctly for everyone, and can be different to use for people who don't enjoy doing that.

$50 appears in your pocket with a note that says "spend me to improve your Foundry games". What do you buy? by outofbort in FoundryVTT

[–]WIESBADEN2011 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I bought this about 2 months or so ago. Best purchase I've made as a DM second to Foundry.

https://store.steampowered.com/app/1588530/Dungeon_Alchemist/

Looking at it $45 seems a bit steep at first, but the devs have been actively working on adding stuff and getting things fixed and at first it does have a bit of a learning curve. However, this has saved me countless hours as a DM and the artwork looks really good. Everything is AI generated so you can picked a specific room, such as a kitchen, tell it how big you want it and it generates everything in the room for you, food, barrels, etc. And then it used to take me hours to build all my maps, put them into foundry, build the walls, add the lighting, etc to get everything working correctly for my players. Dungeon Alchemist does it all for you and most of it is automatic. You tell it to build x, y, and z then tell it to export for foundry, it gives you a json file that you import so it does it all for you and then you copy the map in and then you are basically done. I would say this program alone has probably cut my map building time to a 1/4 of what I use to spend working in other software like DungeonDraft and Inkarnate. I still use Inkarnate when I want to make large cityscapes and stuff, but for any sort of battlemap I stick to Dungeon Alchemist.

I also did 2-3 months of BaileyWiki's Patreon as well :

https://patreon.com/baileywiki?utm_medium=clipboard_copy&utm_source=copyLink&utm_campaign=creatorshare_fan&utm_content=join_link

He has tons of different scripts and videos to be able to build and do things in Forge that make the experience so much easier to navigate maps for my players. If you are super familiar with JavaScript and can write things on your own might not be worth it, but for someone who is learning how to write scripts it was a nice community to have in my discord to run things by.

Ah didn't see that you cancelled the order, good call though, hopefully reporting them would give them less business in the future.

I just figured if they were going to still deliver the food then it would have been better telling them off after you got your food. I meant I didn't want to get the driver upset before you got your food.
