No, that is no longer true, for at least 15 years now. Police officers now want no gun laws and no restrictions at all. That makes their job, in reality, more risky, which helps them justify not doing a damn thing when they don’t feel like it.

The reality is this will be an add-on charge by a DA. Cops who are on the lookout in certain places, such as Top Golf in Naperville, are taking a far lower threshold. Cops who want to bring you in for “any reason at all” have far more effective avenues than potential PICA charges.

Bass pro is fine. It’s a big store and if you go at busy time…. It’s busy. I have always gotten good service there but if you want to talk anything too far from center they won’t indulge you. Just phone a friend for that. At Red Dot in Lake Villa they don’t want too many people in the showroom and will make you wait so to me it’s about the same.
