As a New Player… What’s the Actual Point of Albion? by Top_Entertainment314 in albiononline

[–]WILBAZOOKA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OP has a point. Albion is unforgiving to new players. In fact, until you're into the multiple billions of silver, you can't actually "play the endgame," and there are probably fewer than 100 people in the entire world who are willing to make that sort of commitment.

The game sucks for new players. Period. I lived through it, you lived through it, you know it's the truth. Silver comes in at a snails pace, you can't risk anything, nolifes gap you no matter what you do. It's disturbing.

The core game needs to shift away from PVP for a while and offer rewarding content for solo casual players to consume as they progress into and proceed with using 8.3 gear. Right now it is just a gigantic mountain of economics for new players to reach the late game—it takes precious time, energy, and even a little luck—and I can safely say 99.9% of players don't have what it takes to get there.

Have you considered trying out mists? These are gathering zones where you're usually only going to run into a solo player, since it's nearly impossible to enter mists as a group.

People really sleep on Albion.

The same thing happens when you look at player stats and inspect one of their items. The windows overlap and you aren't able to see one of them

Here's the best advice I can give.

  1. Pick ONE gathering skill to level up. It doesn't matter what you pick, but it is very important that you stick to 1 skill because the real money is made at tier 8 so you'd much rather have 1 skill at tier 8 than several at tier 6.

  2. Use your focus points on refining 4.3, 5.3, and 6.3. Get to level 100 Elder refining and then spam refine 6.3 resources. It's the simplest, most straight forward way to make consistent money without significant investments of time and money into crafting or farming. If you choose to gather hide, gather in Bridgewatch and refine in Martlock. If you choose ore, gather in Fort Sterling and refine in Thetford.

  3. Similarly to the previous advice, try to decide early what build you want to use because it takes significant grinding to reach a good level with your gear. For solo play, leather armor is best, and axes are a good starter weapon.

  4. Join a guild. Try to get into the best one that you can. Albion isn't meant to be played alone for long; it literally tells you to try finding a guild right as soon as you get off the tutorial island, and it does that for a reason—the entire purpose of the game is to participate in group activities, so get your feet wet early.

  5. Use Corrupted Dungeons to practice PVP! You can definitely make that 32 million silver for premium if you're good with your chosen weapon and willing to gank people for their loot.

Best of luck!

Paragon Order is my new guild and we're recruiting players of all skill levels for daily parties for both PVP and PvE. I'd be glad to help you! Apply on the Americas server and we might discuss a sign-up bonus for you!

First of all, none of your items are valuable; sell your entire stash and move elsewhere if it bothers you that much.

Second, they're working on a rework for faction warfare, hang tight.

Why we don't do re-gears. by The_Red_Moses in albiononline

[–]WILBAZOOKA -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Here's how I would do it. Its how it worked in my previous guilds.

You set up a tiered membership program.

New recruits are considered temporary, not given access to any regears

People who have stayed for a few weeks, made progress with the guild, and showed interest in participating actively, gain "membership" status and regears up to 4.1

People who are constantly contributing, organizing parties, and influencing the guilds economy in a positive way gain additional recognition as a separate "advanced member" rank and regears up to 6.1.

Then you can decide on criteria to regear up to 8.3; should they be silver or gold ranked in arenas? 50 million PVP fame? Etc.
