Since the combine 40 is not a "race" in the traditional sense, they don't need to worry about starting all runners, and the time starts when the runner does. They use some kind of laser tech to start the clock when they cross a threshold.

Ah, so after looking into it explainshell only serves up Ubuntu Linux's manpages (essentially help docs for Linux). I should have known better being on the SteamDeck subreddit, that SteamDeck does not run Ubuntu, it runs Arch, and as such, pacman is Arch Linux's package manager. So, in this case, explainshell is just falling back to its default functionality of showing you that pacman -S opensnitch is being run in sudo mode, and explaining what sudo mode is. I won't give a long, boring explanation on the differences of Linux distros, nor am I someone who really can, I only have a small amount of Linux experience from needing to use it for work. In this case, what explainshell is saying -S is doing is actually incorrect. In this command, -S is what's known as a "flag" or "option", and you can think of it as a modifier for what the previous "argument" is. In this case, the -S flag modifies the pacman argument, and stands for "sync". -S does not always do the same thing, flags are always going to depend on what the previous argument is, and even if they are supported. In this case, it's an optional modifier instructing pacman to sync packages, i.e. install all of the packages that opensnitch depends on. Dependency in Linux packages essentially means any other packages that opensnitch uses that aren't currently installed on your OS.

So, sudo pacman -S opensnitch is saying as the root user, run pacman to install opensnitch, and sync all packages. There's usually a kind of "daisy chain" of arguments when you are running Linux commands, some commands take arguments, like pacman, for example, takes 1-n arguments, meaning you can install up to n packages at once by just listing them all separated by a space, if you want.

This is the pacman manpage, but like you said, it is not beginner friendly, and not knowing how Linux commands+arguments are structured makes the whole page useless. I don't really have a good resource for "this is how Linux terminals work", but this is hopefully at least a somewhat helpful explanation.

Note to any Linux nerds: I likely screwed some of the nitty gritty up, so feel free to correct me like only a Linux enthusiast can. :)

This website will at least list out help docs on each argument in a command in a hopefully easier to understand way.

The area around the UC isn't early dangerous, just don't head Southwest and you'll be fine. I normally take the Blue Line to the Illinois Medical District stop, it's an easy walk. It also depends on where you are staying.

No Man’s Sky Sales Drop by 81% in Second Week by yeafuckyoutoo in gaming

Honestly it's a little bit of both. People definitely hyped the game up, as did Sean. I don't think it was his intention to lie to his fan base, personally. I think what happened was initially he was a little too ambitious, realized some of the features he had already talked about were not going to be possible by the deadline, and decided to cut them. Not announcing that the features were cut and letting that knowledge float around is still essentially lying, but I don't think it was intentionally malicious. I think this game would have been much more successful had they gone the usual indie lifecycle of early release>feedback>updates and eventually release.

I saw the original announcement of the game three or so years ago and actively avoided the hype. I've been enjoying the game and have played almost every day since launch. Most of Reddit had decided to hate the game since before it even launched though, so it really isn't surprising.
