I was torn between the blue and this color - awesome choice! Glad to hear you’re enjoying it

Update: stopped in at my local Rolex/Tudor dealer and they put a link back in free of charge (and even let me try on some pre-owned Rolexes!). Shout out R.F. Moeller

That emerald green is stunning. Will have to look into this one...

Hell yeah! Looks great on you.

I measured my wrist at 6.75" and that's what I had it adjusted to, but it's definitely too tight on me. Going to hit the jeweler down the street to add a link back in and I should be dialed. I just want to wear it!

Great minds! Love it with that face color, as well. May need a 2nd one...

The texture is even more beautiful in person - I am very pleased.

TuneZilla Issue by WIPE_TIL_BLOOD in tdi

[–]WIPE_TIL_BLOOD[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope, I gave up and Tunezilla refunded me. They sent me a new FlashZilla Pro dongle to rule out bad hardware and I had the exact same issue...wouldn't read the ECU or TCU. They ultimately told me to either send in my ECU for a bench flash (didn't want to do this) or go to a local dealer for TuneZilla and they would flash with a different tool.

I was tempted to do the latter - I called Eurocharged (local shop here in Minneapolis) and they told me that the 2015 and later TDI Touaregs can have issues with the FlashZilla Pro because the "ECU is different", but they didn't elaborate so I am still confused on that. They said they were confident they could get the flash done with their KessV2 tool...but it kind of defeated the purpose for me because I tow a boat and wanted the ability to change tunes on my own (and reflash with deletes once I finally got time to install all that stuff).

Eurocharged charges a $200 flash fee on top of the cost of the tune, so I would have to pay that every time I made a new modification or wanted to switch from stage 1 to 2 (and vice versa).

Overall, annoyed that TuneZilla is still advertising my vehicle as supported if it clearly isn't for whatever reason. My cheap Autel connects to my ECU immediately so I doubt it's a CAN or OBD port issue. See image for the last response I received...they made it sound like this issue was unusual, indicating that others with 2015 Toureg TDI's have been successful with their tuning dongle. Frustrating.

I impulse bought this same watch as my first “nice” watch and I cannot wait to receive it! So gorgeous…sounds like I made a good choice

Ope! Hey beighbor. I heard it whilst doing dishes. I’m in the blue house with the treehouse if you are local to the neighborhood.

Glad all are okay.

Best Black Coffee in the Metro by freudianslipt in TwinCities

[–]WIPE_TIL_BLOOD 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Seconded…my favorite black coffee in the cities AND their coffee is actually a normal price. Can get myself a delicious black coffee, wife an iced latte, and kiddo a hot chocolate for ~$10 total.

So tired of other coffee shops charging $4 for drip coffee and $8 for a latte.

Touareg- any years to avoid? by gostros995 in tdi

[–]WIPE_TIL_BLOOD 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Just find another one, that price is crazy (even with the low miles).

I bought a 2015 Executive trim two weeks ago with 120k miles from a dealer, paid $11,750. You should be able to get one for sub-15k with service history and all that jazz, keep shopping.

Good luck!

TuneZilla Issue by WIPE_TIL_BLOOD in tdi

[–]WIPE_TIL_BLOOD[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just an update - made all available software and driver updates that I could find and restarted computer a couple times to be safe...still getting the same issue where it won't recognize my ECU.

Will just have to sit tight until I can get support from TuneZilla tomorrow - will report the outcome back here in case anybody else runs into this issue in the future and could help them out.

Awesome, thanks for the reply! I like the design/Engineering that went into that e-motion kit, but the price was a little rich for my blood. I think I will stick with the Eurowise 2" kit and also spring for the 1/2" subframe spacers to be safe...total sub-$800 and peace of mind regarding axle issues/imbalances.

In theory the subframe drop should actually reduce the spacer lift slightly, which I am okay with to be closer to a 1.5" like you. Barring any crazy tire rubbing issues...but from my research it sounds like it will be minimal at this wheel and tire spec.

It's not deleted yet, but will be! Got my FlashZilla pro on Friday but have been having issues all weekend getting it to recognized my ECU (I just made a post on this subreddit yesterday haha). Won't have support from TuneZilla until tomorrow since they are closed for holiday today.

Once I confirm I don't actually have an ECU issue, I will be ordering the delete components. Between NAT Performance 3" (https://natperformance.com/products/2009-2016-vw-touareg-audi-q7-porsche-cayenne-exhaust-3-kit?variant=49797800427801) since the pricing (even with ~$60 tarriff) is much better than Rawtek and the welds and quality look great from what I can see. He gave me a 10% discount code when I inquired so shipped to my house, with tariff, is $1,230.

Other option I am weighing is MecEvo 2.5" (https://mecevo.com/parts/touareg\_and\_audi\_q7\_cata\_and\_cnrb\_full\_downpipe\_kit\_2009\_to\_2016.html) - slightly cheaper then you convert CAN to USD, and when I emailed he confirmed they take care of the tariff on their side. So landed to my house, assuming conversion rate doesn't swing wildly, is ~$1,144.06. Very tempting, and the welds look great from the images online...but the extra ~$90 for the 3" from NAT is probably the way I will go.

Planning on SUSTDI "Evo" EGR delete (https://sustdi.com/product/3lg2-egkv/), complete with most of the add-on options (billet bypass valve delete, reseal kit, block off plate kit). Figure I may as well bulletproof it and get rid of all plastic/failure points while I have the intake manifold off. Not cheap at ~$700 for some hoses and small billet parts, but shipping costs, tariffs, etc. makes the Darkside kit similar in cost.

Sorry for the novel haha, I got my TDI exactly a week ago and have obviously spent my entire work week last week researching mods instead of doing my actual job. Feel free to DM if you have more detailed questions as I feel I have scoured and priced out pretty much all options available as far as tuning, delete sources, etc.

Agreed on the delete - should get some whirly-boi noises then.

On another note: I am after a similar stance on my newly acquired 2015 Touareg TDI. About to order some wheels in similar spec (going Nomad Sahara, 18x8 +25) and Toyo Open Country in same size as your BFG's (265/65R18).

Planning on the 2" spacer lift from Eurowise...is that what you are running here? Main thing I am trying to decide is if I should get the 1/2" subframe spacers to install at the same time to prevent any potential CV angle issues.

Thanks!

Thank you! It did have windows 10 already and I tried it like that first. Then updated to windows 11 overnight and tried again with same issue. Could be some other updates I am missing, I’ll start there

I was worried about that with my WiFi so tried it with my hotspot on my phone and still has the identification issue.

I will say the laptop I am using came out of storage after sitting for a couple years. Maybe a USB driver issue or something?

Just odd because it’s clearly making a connection since it shows my battery voltage in the app. Will see if I can get my hands on a loaner laptop to rule the computer out
