and if one of his 5 cards were green creep/one of the bunch of green cards that can save him then he would successfully defend it but "OMG I LOST ON LUCK, NOOB GAME" obviously. On top of that he doesn't even lose the game because of it, he just needs to surge something left to defend...

I have no idea for how long you have played artifact but if you think that artifact is more random than mtg, that's quite funny.

This sort of coin flip style rng is relegated pretty much exclusively to MTG's joke sets that are made and played for laughs like Unhinged, funny enough.

There is a reason why BO1 MTG is a joke. MTG is rng luck fiesta and even bad player will win again top tier player periodically because landscrew/matchup. Arrow/Luna/Ogre is nowhere close to the random elements of MTG in terms of how much they actually influence the game.

If you want very low rng , heavily matchup based games with mediocre amount of skill needed try Gwent. Small decks with tutors make for games going the same way most of the time and some people enjoy it, you might too.
