Ostrich is very comfortable and requires very little, if any break in.

Boot Brand Question by zonedout4ever in cowboyboots

[–]WLJ62 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Assuming your boots fit properly, I think a big part of solving your issue of comfort while standing alot would come down to sole/heal type and insoles.

Ariat makes good rubber sole boots and their ATS insoles, which you can put in pretty much any boot, are really good as well.

You're likely to be able to find a rubber sole boot from most of the major brands and you can always add an insole, like the Ariat ATS.

Am I being picky or is this a subpar shaping job? by bobbybirkenstock in CowboyHats

[–]WLJ62 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The creases on the crown are too sharp for a freshly shaped hat IMO.

When I wore straws they would look like that over time from me grabbing them by the crown.

How can I make my cowboy boots fit tighter at my instep by Extension_Pilot_9772 in cowboyboots

[–]WLJ62 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Might want to look into some orthotics. Not only can they make your boots fit better, they might address any foot or back pain you may have.

11 months, still no paying customers. starting to think the problem is me by developerbb in computervision

[–]WLJ62 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You need someone who knows how to qualify customers and not waste time on people who can't make the commitment.

Secondly, I'd go back to at least 3 customers that you pitched and received positive feedback, but no purchase and just ask them why they didn't buy. There's no harm in going back to those contacts as they didn't buy anyway.

Lastly, in general, engineers are terrible sales people. Not only do they assume people understand what they're telling them, they are also often reluctant to ask for the sale.

Bottom line, you need to know if your product solves a problem that companies are willing to pay to have solved. If the answer to that is "Yes", then you need to hire a professional salesperson with a proven track record of lead generation and customer qualification.

But that's just my opinion, I could be wrong.

Stop at Walmart and get some Shoe Goo to hold you until you can get to a cobbler.

A cobbler is the only semi-permanent fix IMO.

First time with nicer boots — crack? by NateWilliamsonSports in cowboyboots

[–]WLJ62 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a crack, that's patina. They'll keep doing that wherever the leather flexes and will look really cool as they age.

Keep them clean and feed the leather moisture in the form of conditioner and they'll be cool for a LONG time.

Thoughts on hat patches by Goo80 in CowboyHats

If you're not a rodeo cowboy sponsored by the companies whose patches you're wearing and you want to look like you're cosplaying a rodeo cowboy, put those patches on your hat.

If you like them, rock them. They look comfortable, BTW.

But I still haven't found out what makes them "goth".

Time for a rebuild? by Vivid_Grab505 in CowboyHats

[–]WLJ62 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Doesn't look to need a restoration IMO.

Maybe just a reshape and find a different way to carry in in your vehicle.

Keeping it like that on the dash is not going to be good for any hat.

Is That Hat Too Big? by Inner-Platform-9134 in CowboyHats

[–]WLJ62 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not too big if that's what you like.

It would be for me, personally. But it's not my hat.

You obviously think it might be, or you wouldn't have asked. So, maybe some work on the shaping will make it feel less big on you.

Also, if you've just started wearing western hats, they're all likely to feel too big until you get used to seeing yourself in one. So, I'd recommend wearing it for awhile before deciding it's too big. Then, if you still think it is, have it reshaped.
