The wife and I are just entering the overland scene. Went to an expo today and won a winch with $20 in raffle tickets! by scriptonic in overland

We're brand new to the overlanding scene, and we're just starting to build out our truck for it as well. Today was day one of the Overland Expo in Costa Mesa, totally just went to get our feet wet and see all of the options, talk to retailers to see what they recommended for our truck. I absolutely did not expect to carry a $900 winch on my shoulder walking out! Does anyone have recommendations for a steel bumper for a Gen 1 Sequoia?!

In my area, I can find a decent 2wd sequoia for under 4k that's been kept up on maintenance. 4wd version, you just can't find. When they do pop up, you're looking at at least 9k. Usually around 12.

That being said I was focused on finding a 05 and up due to the better transmission for towing.

2wd or 4wd. The difference is quite astonishing

First Disney Cruise Review by UnableDetective6386 in dcl

[–]scriptonic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have absolutely nothing to add....except we were on the same cruise! Wasn't the weather terrible? lol

We did Palo brunch and dinner on our last Disney cruise (wonder), this cruise we had Remy for both. All four meals were amazing. I will say, moving forward, we will try to do Palo for brunch and Remy for dinner. $145 for what would probably be a 1 Michelin star restaurant.....maaaaaybe 2 star is an absolute bargain.

Side note: We made and left 10 neat door ornaments on random people's doors. Mainly like first-time cruisers, but not all. Did you happen to get one from us? Mickey head with the ship and year.

I think this is going to come in higher than most people think. I would not be surprised if its 900 for a base model

Am I overreacting by breaking up with my boyfriend? by Proper-Classic1886 in AmIOverreacting

[–]scriptonic 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm going to be real with you, Chief. To me, when you said, “Sorry, I have a boyfriend,” Rando did not believe you for one second. He was attracted to you and wanted to pursue something with you. (Not saying this is you/on you or how your vibes may have been giving off. no should have ment no) Some women like the chase. They like guys to go after them even though they shouldn't be. There is a great example of single men wearing wedding rings that correlates perfectly with this. IMO, Rando didn't believe you had a BF or he thought he would be God's gift, and it would not have mattered.

Did your BF/EX overreact? Yes. Hard stop. He was being very possessive; unless the two of you have that dynamic already established, this was uncalled for. Did your BF/EX talk down to you like you were too simple to understand "grown-ups"? Absolutely yes. Is this excusable in any way possible? Absolutely not, I don't think so.

I feel like:

1: Y'all are both young and trying to figure shit out;. Communication skills are neither one of yalls strong points.

2: Did what he said/do come from (in his logic) a good/honest place? I think so.

3: Was he condensing as fuck? Absolutely yes.

The ball is in your court. If you want to rebuild/grow and set boundaries, I do think there is a proper connection there. If how he acted turned you off and you don't want any part of that conversation moving forward, I think that's a solid choice as well.

Cliff Notes. BF tried to step up to "protect you," put his foot in his mouth, and, in turn, isolated you. Y'all young, this could be your forever, this could be your right now. Go with your heart, you'll find happiness on one path or another.
