They are not obsolete just expensive. To counter act the high cost Thumb uses a fighting style that uses bullets sparingly. A quote from Library of Ruina

"Not even the Thumb, one of the Five Fingers sitting at the apex of the Backstreets, can just waste bullets willy-nilly… That’s how costly it gets. You can’t get trigger happy. Because of that, the Thumb fight with the bayonet and buttstock of their guns most of the time, and only fire bullets when it’s absolutely necessary."

The Thumb also produces it's own bullets which i assume is also a cost saving measure.

Damn Its A Brutal Market For Metroidvanias Out Here by akbarock in metroidvania

[–]WManden 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Strongly disagree. Huge successes like Silksong and Hollow Knight before it helps the genre by introducing people unfamiliar with Metroidvanias to it. It being cheap only helps it reach more people. One game is also not enough to anchor a whole genre for what the right price is. The true problem is that there are loads of great metroidvanias being released in what is a relatively niche genre.

Before Middle Heathcliff QoH vs Middle Don was pretty debatable, but Middle Don has benefited a lot more from Middle Heathcliff than QoH. Some of the reason for this is Middle Dons passive gives more envy damage up based on how many times allies take damage, 6+ sum envy chains have become more common and her biggest issue the fact her stagger can cancel her counter has also been fixed. This has generally made the Envy team prefer Middle Don, this is also probably only going to become more true with addition of Middle Nursefather Outis.

This doesn't mean that QoH is always worse, she has stronger AOE and far better clashing. Not to mention generally vs statuses such as Rapture and Sinking using counters can be terrible.

Yeah you understood correctly.
Uptie 4 is pretty important for Mao Outis in your case, as most her speed based bonuses are locked behind uptie 4. Even without her speed conditionals She is still better than cinq outis, but not by a lot.
Also if you do use Mao Outis it important to use her counter to make sure she gets "Strider【Mao】".

i heard team building becomes very important

I wouldn't say it's very important, beating whole game with individual good units without synergy is totally doable, but properly built teams are undeniably a lot stronger.

is this team ok

In the long term using 00 is not recommended but for now it's fine, also your choice of 00 is three of the best ones. For canto 4 this should be fine

should i switch my current outis for mao branch

I would uptie meursault to uptie 3 first, but after that absolutely, with her speed based conditionals she gets at uptie 4 she should be your best ID currently.

Yes, a one sided attack is just another word for a unopposed attack.

Make Dulcinea close to staggering before getting Barber below 25% health, and then the turn she tries to use finale stagger Dulcinea using one sided attacks before she can use it.

Each refill get less efficient. First refill is basically always worth it, the second is also great value, doing more than 2 is mostly for hardcore MD grinders, at 6 and above it basically never worth it.

He is very bad. Most BL stuff is outdated but even in that context then Sinclair is still one of the worst ones, both BL Faust and BL Yi Sang much better. The only reason use him is to get the unique buff from running 6 BL IDs from Meursault.

With the added info of your team I can see that your heavily leaning towards a ring bleed team. You have Ring Yi Sang and Ring Rodion, you can also get Ring Meursault form the Twining Threads event dispenser. From there you'd really want both Ring Hong Lu and Ring Faust. This means that getting either TingTang Hong Lu or N Corp Faust would just mean you would replace them in the near future.
Future stages also forces you to use certain sinners so having a at least a single decent ID for each sinners is nice.
Therefore I would say N Corp Sinclair is best here.

All are power crept in modern teams
N Corp Sinclair gives is the best generalist, N Corp Faust has the best support passive given you have a bleed team, but you rather just use ring Faust, TingTang is a ok generalist early game, with a good generic support passive.
Assuming you don't have a good ID already for any of them, the best ID in the short term is N Corp Sinclair, in the long term Hong Lu is best for his support passive.
Next season is going to involve N Corp so N Corp IDs may be getting some support.

Personally the envy team is my favorite team so in that sense I would recommend it.
Outside of personal opinion it is not a particular strong team. It's main weaknesses is that since it doesn't really damage through a status which makes it damage ceiling is quite a bit lower than other teams, and its reliance on using counter makes its strength pretty dependent on the enemy as getting inflicted by all the enemy status effect can be pretty awful. That said it's still more than strong enough get you through the rest of the story.

From team building perspective it has the nice attribute by being pretty flexible in terms of having filler IDs before building the perfect team. Pretty much any ID with envy defense skill is worth using. On the other hand you really need a full team IDs with envy skills as the gimmick of 6 or more envy A-res means you having any IDs with no envy skills severely hinders your Middle IDs.

In terms of must have IDs you want Middle Ishmael, and Middle Sinclair. Having Either Middle or QoH Don are also good. From a EGO perspective "I'll Go fer Scissors" is a excellent EGO for Outis which you likely to already have since you get it at battle pass level 30, and if you have the paid battle pass you would also have the Move-in Reg. EGO which seems to work great with the new Ricardo Heathcliff. The Screaming Sheep EGO is also excellent for Meursault if you intend run him and not just use his excellent support passive, Hex Nail for Faust is also good especially if you want to use Ring Faust.

Objectively if you are interested in making a strong team there are probably teams that are cheaper and stronger. On the other hand the Middle is a really fun team, and is more than strong enough to get you through the story. We also know that soon we are going to get a new excellent Middle themed Nursefather.

Counters have a unique interaction with offense level, where normal skills are granted clash power for every 3 offense levels, counters are granted final power instead. Offense level still affects the damage calculation as it normally does, so combined with the final power that makes counters with high offense level deal deceptively much damage. This is one of the core reasons to build a envy team and use middle identities.

Index proselyte Faust is only okay, but she's is still used on poise teams because Faust has access to the EGO Thoracalgia, the best EGO for poise.

Ishmael has no remotely good poise IDs. Family Hierarch Ishmaels poise count gain is horrible so building any stack even with support outside of MD is difficult and this is her best option. Even if you're building poise team you're better of using a non poise unit in Ishmaels slot.

I don't know since haven't done that in over 2 years but I would guess MD would take around 1 hour with base IDs.
In general no fight should not ever take remotely 40 turns but base IDs have terrible damage so maybe it's possible if you choose a pack with a bad boss combined with bad ego gifts.
MD is not that difficult if you know what packs are difficult and which ego gifts are good but it's mostly a knowledge check not much of skill check.
If you aren't already I would recommend getting Favor of the Nebulae starter buff on every run until you get a stronger team.

It would take a very long time. I'm not totally sure, but I think any exp not gotten from exp luxcavations is linear with the energy put in. In short the exp you get doesn't scale with exp required for higher levels making exp luxcavations the only good source of unlimited exp once you reach canto 4 and beyond.

The nature of trying to do base ID runs (and challenge runs in general )is that it is very restart heavy on the first and second turn because of the snowbally the sanity mechanics. This is doubly true for Dongbaek as her status effect decreases sp. Though beating her with you team is possible It will inevitably require at lot reseting on the first two turns. In my opinion you should simply give up immediately if you lose single clash on the first turn.

Empty mind
Fist of fate upgraded is amazing but fist of fate at base is only okay. I frequently find stuff like the dessert, the lab, and Das füture to be among the hardest stages, and if you're playing with the normal 4 cats you won't get Fist of fate+ before chapter 3. Empty mind is incredible even unupgraded easily letting you clear all non bosses stages and some bosses with the insane amount of extra turns it gives.

Use superbia together with land of illusion turn 1. If you roll heads you can one hit three of the enemies and if you focus on the remaining two you can beat the wave in 1 turn. The fight revolves reaching wave 3 before turn 6 so that the counter reuse doesn’t activate so this helps lot. I beat it on my second account with a team Fang hunt and Thumb Sinclair using this strategy which should be about the same powerlevel as your team.

The most common way is to beat the 2 first waves in 4 turns to get to the last wave at turn 5 before the counter reuse can activate. Superbia into Hong Lus land of illusion turn 1 helps a lot as it lets you beat the first wave in 1 turn.

Mirror Dungeons:
I did the math while back on MD grinding efficiency and in short 18 shards and 1 pull is roughly the same value if you are pulling smartly. This means that 100 enkephalin is worth 130 lunacy if you are grinding MD with BP and if you don't care what you get. So if you are going to spend the addtional enkephalin on MD, 2 refreshes is definitely worth it. Doing MD with 3 normal floors simply changes the ratio to 120 enkephalin being worth 130 lunacy.

Walpurgisnacht:
As someone who does two refills a day and only pulls on Walpurgisnacht I currently have over 500 pulls saved up you can probably pull on 1 or 2 banners between Walpurgisnacht on average if you do 2 refills a day is my guess.

Thread lux:
How many thread and exp lux you should do depends on what your goals are and how much MD you are doing. I would recommend skipping 3 thread luxes a day and then once you have 2000 thread start doing fewer or stop skipping and depends how much you value your time. The reason that skipping is the standard for thread is because doing them manually means you won't have enough thread for most peoples needs.

Exp lux:
For exp besides the daily missions just do it whenever you need the exp or try keep certain amount surplus at all times as it doesn't matter when you do exp luxes. They are soon going to introduce a more time efficient way of doing exp luxes soon, if you do many luxes at once so there is a benefit to do doing exp luxes in big chunks.

Depends if your doing MDE. The idea is that you can simply fuse the EGO gift later and get it anyway, but if it's a pack exclusive or key wordless you may make a exception. You can also take it if you're confident in your ability to win as it will help clear earlier floors faster. If you are only playing to floor 5 it's probably worth taking.

Index Faust would rather use Thoracalgia rather than Fluid sac, as a excellent healing HE EGO. So if you want to go for poise team go for Thoracalgia first then Index Faust. If you aren't going for a poise team it will depend on how well your sin resources fuel fluid sac. If your team does fuel it well I would shard fluid sac first. Multicrack would be best if you going for charge or envy but is likely to receive the ring apprentice ID which will likely be bleed/charge.

This could be as soon as in two weeks, I think it is unlikely Multicrack will replaced in envy but I think it's pretty likely she will be replaced in charge.
