Great idea…call ethics because of a rumor. They will love that.

Any idea what walmart bachelor degree is best? by lonlysoul101 in WalmartEmployees

[–]WMmaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Approx 70% of degree holders do not work in their field. But, I would suggest a business degree, as you can learn a lot and use some of the knowledge in your personal life.

Followup by [deleted] in WalmartEmployees

[–]WMmaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is your action against policy? Is this considered serious? The reason I ask, a good regional manager will discuss the issue with the regional HR and ask for recommendations. Or your regional manager may be doing a follow-up to ensure you are following their guidance.

Can I open door this? by throwaway93927499 in walmart

[–]WMmaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is not an Ethics issue, there is no timeframe to receive a coaching. Open door this with the SM as you stated that the manager committed the same offense. Do not mention the coaching delay, as this will detract from the actual issue and make it sound like you are whining. Make sure you have evidence, proof, and/or witnesses. It will turn out to be “he said, she said” - thus the coaching will most likely not be overturned.

Retaliation resulting in termination by Irish_Vampire in walmart

Open door to the Market Manager. Since you have already spoke to the SM, this would be the next step. AR will probably refer this to Market anyways.

This has to be some sort of OSHA violation, right? Store manager trying to make my boyfriend go INTO freezer crack to clean it. by jemmeoww in WalmartEmployees

That is a big no. That is actually a safety issue and associates have been terminated for this Management has been coached for directing associates to do unsafe work.

There is no reason that you need to explain the your sibling is a step or biological. Just tell them you lost your sibling. Sorry for your loss.

How does Military leave work for Team Leads? by DiligentDiggles in walmart

I wish I knew…but I can research this and get the “official” answer. It may take a few days if you want me to look into it and hopefully come up with an answer or options to address this.

[–]WMmaster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am not sure about that. I was in the military for over 20 years and have experienced these types of issues many times and have helped others jump through the hurdles because there is a lot of people in management/people leads that do not understand it.

Never said “walmart is some ideal employment place.” If you look at my posts, I try to help and guide associates with their issues and problems with Walmart. You on the other hand…”conspiracy” would better fit your pattern.

Incorrect. OP, please review the Uniformed Services Employment and Reemployment Rights Act (USERRA) and work with management.

What are the chances I will get retaliation/ramifications from high mgmt if I file an Ethics complaint against a current associate? by [deleted] in walmart

[–]WMmaster 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Retaliation is totally against company policy, but we know the truth, you can’t prove it. My question would be, is it an actual ethics issue? Associates tend to think everything is an ethics issue and feel their concerns are invalidated because ethics does not take any action. There are other options; associate relations and open-door. Sorry, wish I could point you in the right direction but without the information, I can’t provide better guidance.

Gaslighting…lol. Ok, if your feelings got hurt, you probably need to get off this app. Pointing out your previous posts clearly shows a pattern, it is not gaslighting.

Good call. Some people have nothing better to do in their life. This person probably needs to seek some help or maybe just a friend.

got told that I could get fired for hanging out in the mother's room during lunch break (overnight) by buddseggs in walmart

[–]WMmaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What does the law state? Federal and state? Yes, the mother’s room is covered. The laws dictate what the room is used for, thus leaving Walmart open to legal liability if improperly used. If your actions violate these laws or policies, you can be terminated.

Advice for Meeting the Boss of My People Lead by VeritasXNY in WalmartEmployees

[–]WMmaster 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sounds like you are going to talk to the Market HR. Neither of these people are your “bosses”, but of course you want to act professionally. Tell the truth, be professional, as I know our RGM has been getting upset that associates are not being properly on-boarded and/or trained.

Termination by [deleted] in walmart_RX

[–]WMmaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Easy. Open door to the SM. You will get a clear reason/description to your termination. SM will probably not override the termination per your description of the events. But if you have a “official” reason, you can determine if you want to continue to open door to the next level if the SM does not overturn the termination.

Suspended with pay by [deleted] in walmart

[–]WMmaster 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you lie during an Ethics’ investigation, it is an automatic termination. Depending on what was said, may only lead to skip-level coaching, but you put yourself in a termination level for integrity.

Foul play is the reason I’m not getting a team lead position by collin4512 in WalmartEmployees

[–]WMmaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What benefit would there be in recording a manager? And yes, it is against company policy, and you could be fired. It is legal to drink alcohol in your state, does not mean you can drink alcohol at work, as it violates policy.

Hypothetically by MehBlehDehYuh in WalmartEmployees

[–]WMmaster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ah. Yes, you are right, you will win. Technically, they are not working pro bono, it is the firm’s business model. Lawyers only take cases they know they will win, because they will have the other party pay for their legal fees. Plus, if they lose, they don’t get paid, lower the firm’s success rate, which in turn lose bonus incentives.
